I’ve installed a few of these in various project cars throughout the years and never have any desire to deviate and use other brands. This Viper system is straightforward and is easy to install in almost any vehicle so long as you have basic understanding of automotive circuits and can work with wires. The sensitivity on the brain box is easy to set and everything works as it should. Two-way remote is a bit bulky but most aftermarket remotes are the same. It has good range and has been a great theft deterrent for my vehicle.

I have ordered 2 of these, and I’m very happy with what I got. I would order them again.

The first, I received a slightly different model (3306) than stated and came with spanish instructions and NO wiring diagram. I googled a diagram close-enough to use it. The second was the correct model (3305) and came with the wiring diagram and english manual. So it appears to be a little luck of the draw. Beyond that, everything is positive. The units appeared to be open box but unused, and had all the accessories and wires. For the money, an excellent deal.

I don’t recommend the DIY route with this if you have no experience installing alarms OR even so if you don’t have access to wiring diagrams for your car. I have expert experience with 12v electronics, but if I didn’t have the OEM service manual I wouldn’t know what the OEM wires are. DEI dealers have a ‘cheat sheet’ database, so you may be able to talk an installer into selling you the sheet for your car. Probably not though, as it cuts into their business.

The first alarm, I installed as a replacement for my early 2000’s Viper alarm. Since DEI is excellent about standardization, it was almost a drop-in replacement. I just had to reprogram the settings.

The second one was a fresh install, required some relays for the door locks, and is working fine.

PRO TIP- DEI was foolish to put the LED on the antenna, it tells the thief exactly where to disable the pager. There are limited places to put the antenna where it can radiate, but at least put tape over the LED to dim it.

I have installed and had the systems in my vehicles for well over 30 years they are a spectacular system. When you go to the auto dealerships and they quote you $600 to install this thing and it only cost you $100 or something on Amazon to buy it take a little bit of extra time go through it watch the videos on you tube it’s easy to install and no reason to pay the crooks at the audio dealership $500 for a three hour job!!!!!!!!!!! However viper corporation SUCKS compared to what they used to be do not expect any cooperation or assistance with questions concerning this product they have completely turned to corporate sales and will not support you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The unit I received had the older/junkier 1-way remote than is shown in the picture. The price was nice, so I kept it. Self installed in a 96 Jeep Cherokee that was already wired for keyless entry. Everything works as it should, and I’m mostly happy with it. Self install is not for the faint of heart (Viper goes out of their way to NOT help you so that you’ll have a ‘pro’ do it), but what’s nice is you can stash the components in a more hidden/secure location. The ‘pro’ is going to install it right under the steering wheel in the first place any thief is going to look and charge you a few hundred bucks for it. Having done the install once, I could easily disable and bypass the system in about a minute if it was installed in the standard location.

A general note on why I gave this thing 3 stars: this is the ‘name brand’ security system, but every single piece from the wire harnesses to the plastic box to the remotes makes me think I might have bought the cheap $20 knockoff. In a word, it feels like junk. Also, the range is no different from any other RKE—maybe half a block. And I placed the receiver high up and contained only by plastic. The only reason I’m satisfied at all is that the Starter Kill (integrated kill switch) works perfectly, and I’m confident it would confound all but the most expert thieves (again, because I self-installed and hid it well)

Had this installed by a local professional installer, as i wanted the ‘ignition kill’ installed correctly, along with additional vibration sensor & back up battery. Installation in my 1999 f250 superduty cost 2x as much as the alarm, but worth it. My last 1999 f250 superduty was stolen, and wanted to stop it from happening again. Very happy with the performance of the alarm, ease of use, and peace of mind.

this alarm would have been nice because of the code hopping feature but the shock sensor is not sensitive enough, no matter how i mount the unit. this alarm is garbage. not worth the money. i am not even sure if i can return it because i already cut a lot of the wiring during the install. it’s a loss that i will have to accept for buying this viper junk.

After we retrieved our stolen car, an alarm was a must! It was a bit of a challenge to install due to wiring, and lack of instructions. It does say to have it installed by a professional. This was a replacement, so lots of old wires. The larger remote lets you Know of movement if you’re not right by your vehicle.
