Best part is it really sounds like a piano and it’s beautiful, value for money !
    cons:
bass – it is a bit “noisy” like a bit harsh sounding. but i don’t mind. as it’s not an actual piano !
    – the keys of course are not piano keys- i find you have to press them a bit harder and you have to get used to them to strike that balance of tonality.

Minor details for this price…I adore my donner piano .. it’s just amazing, and so much like an upright piano, i just can’t believe it.

    Grateful.

I played classical piano for a decade in my youth but haven’t owned a piano since. Once we bought a highly unsatisfactory keyboard that was supposed to have weighted keys but didn’t- it was lousy to play. But this instrument is wonderful. It fits in a small space under a window but the sound fills up the room! Unless, of course, I want to quietly practice with the volume low or headphones on. My only critique is that it would be nice if you could use Bluetooth headphones—cordless—but I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

I bought this digital piano a little over 10 months ago and have used it essentially everyday since excluding a few brief trips out of town. I am a beginner, and would recommend this item for others beginners for a good quality instrument that also looks beautiful in their home.

I am really impressed with this piano and my expectations are exceeded for the price point. The things that were important to me: sound, key feel, simple design and set up.

For under $800 it is a great deal.

I am really happy with the purchase of this piano. I was on the fence for a long time, having learned on, grown up with and had my experiences with acoustic pianos. Classically trained and used to be forced to participate in recitals and competitions, which I did not really enjoy. Now I’m grown and had been away from any the piano for 30 years! I really wanted to get back into what I liked about playing. Just for me or captive friends… I had a truncated electric keyboard I received as a gift from someone who isn’t a player. Well meaning, but horrible! I didn’t like the fakeness of it, the electronic sounds, the fact that it wasn’t 88 keys, etc. So I was nervous about this being that kind of experience. The first thing that warmed my heart about this was that depending on how hard or soft you strike a key, the note will be correspondingly loud or soft. So you can play with some feeling, convey a mood!! Crescendo effectively! I find the tones to be rich, warm and decidedly “piano” and not “keyboard”. I appreciate that very much! Solid, won’t require annual tuning, etc. Beautiful and sleek, not taking up a lot of space. The only thing that I am not entirely happy with is the sustain pedal. Mine needs to be depressed really hard for the desired effect and sometimes doesn’t catch certain notes, making it sound clipped and harsh just when you are going for smooth and lingering. Not a huge deal, I’m not giving concerts, but worth mentioning. Yet and still, I love it and am enjoying this instrument thoroughly!

For me, a complete novice, this digital piano is perfect! No hundreds of sounds and effects to distract me, just the keys! The piano looks great in the room and I just love it. I think it sounds great too. I was nearly seduced by the thought of a funky keyboard with bells and whistles, but so glad I stuck to this model. I am pleased I went for the model with the lid as it keeps the cat from jumping on the keys and also keeps the dust out. Also the pedal housing looks better in the matching wood veneer. Really pleased with my purchase. It’s just a pity I can’t buy the talent to go along with it.

  10. Wayyy overpriced

Bought this a few months ago, and have loved it! It’s got great sound quality and looks beautiful. The only things I wish were slightly different – the volume nob is in an inconvenient spot on the back, so if you’ve got it against a wall, it’s kind of hard to get to. The keys have a great touch and a fantastic action, however, It’s a bit heavy for me, slightly heavier than a nord, and I find my hands get a bit tired if I play for an extended period of time. Lastly, the legs have five screws in each of them, which makes it a pain if you want to transport it. It would be nice if they could be removed and put back on easier. If none of these minor things are deal breakers for you, I DEFINITELY recommend this keyboard!

I am writing this review in hopes to help a lot of you out in the position that I was in two months ago: hunting for a full 88-key digital keyboard that wasn’t ridiculously expensive but most importantly, didn’t compromise on the sound/quality. I will try to offer my full opinion without overwhelming you with a massive review, which I know from experience can be daunting! So here you go, please read and I sincerely hope you find this helpful in your “hunting”!

First things first, I do truly love this keyboard and am overall extremely pleased with my purchase! Some of you may be wondering, “then why didn’t you give it a 5-star rating”? I’m glad you asked! My reasoning is that I don’t want to just give something a 5-star rating if I just really like it. I do my best to be reasonably critical so that when something truly knocks my socks off, I’ll give it a 5-star and you’ll know (if you ever encounter another review by me) that I believe that I’m talking about the best of the best. That being said, I would give this keyboard a 4.5/5 if that was an option.

Also, I thought I should mention that I would consider myself to be an intermediate to advanced player so you can get a feel for my background and therefore “credibility”. Music is definitely a strong passion of mine so take all of this as you will.

Anyway, now that that’s out of the way, let me go into some short but thorough detail about the pros and cons:

    PROS:

    – THE AESTHETIC is definitely 5-stars, especially for the price. As many others have commented, people are quick to complement the look of the keyboard. It truly is sleek, elegant, and well-made and I couldn’t be happier with this aspect! The pedal color/texture doesn’t match perfectly but it is not distracting at all or even all that noticeable unless you compare them side by side. I’d give this element a 5/5.

    – THE DYNAMICS are another one of my favorite things about this keyboard! There is a large range of volume while playing and the volume knob at the back works well too. You can play as quietly as snow falling or as loud as thunder crashing and you don’t even have to adjust the volume knob at all. I personally think this is one of the best things going for this keyboard. Definitely a 5/5 for this element.

    – THE KEYS are great and are noticeably fully-weighted. A few others commented that the action was a little heavy for them and I agree. However, I don’t feel that it is detrimental to the playing ability but it is definitely something you’ll have to get used to. I haven’t tried out many other full-sized keyboards but this one is definitely the heaviest action I’ve come across. Again, I want to maintain that this isn’t a bad thing, just something to be aware of. I would probably give this element a 4/5 as I think the perfect action would be slightly lighter than what this keyboard offers.

    – THE SOUND overall is great and I’m really pleased with it! I know others have mentioned that only having the acoustic keyboard sound is a negative. Personally, I disagree since I was looking for something simple. I really wanted something for the acoustic piano sound and I’m a pianist, not a keyboard player if that makes sense. I feel like programming extra sounds would have increased the price of the keyboard so that’s another reason why I’m very content with only the one sound. I do have some things I don’t absolutely love about the sound which I’ll touch on in the “CONS” section. I’d give the sound a 4.5/5.

    – THE ASSEMBLY was super easy! The weight of the keyboard was a bit more than I was expecting but definitely not unbearable and still would be relatively easy to mobilize, which is super nice. This is a 5/5 as well.

    THE CONS:

Honestly there aren’t many! The only two things that I can think of are the keys, which I think I’ve shared enough about, and the sound.

THE SOUND is great like I said but is maybe a little muddier and darker than an acoustic piano, mainly in the mids. It’s still good but not exceptional in my opinion as my acoustic piano sounds brighter and clearer. I wasn’t expecting perfection so I’m not disappointed by a long shot, but I still retain possession of my socks if you know what I mean (see useless reference in the second paragraph). I should mention that I haven’t played it yet while wearing headphones so there’s a chance that that might improve the sound, especially if you have a good quality pair of headphones.

IN SUMMARY, I do prefer playing on my acoustic piano simply for the sake of the traditionality of it and for the small critiques I mentioned in this review (the sound and action of the keys). BUT, and hear me when I say this, DO NOT let that deter you away from this keyboard! It is a really awesome product and I HIGHLY recommended it to all players of all levels! Botta bing, botta boom. That’s that. Period. My intention was to create the clearest picture and description possible, which includes critiques, so that YOU can make a decision confidently.

If you’re reading this, congrats! You just met your reading goal for the week (945 words to be exact)! Anyway, I genuinely hope you have a wonderful day and God bless!
