Used as a replacement on a 2013 Grand Caravan V6. I really like the overall value on this unit. It feels so much better than the OEM plastic unit that it replaced. In fact, the OE plastic part easily broke after I removed it. Replacing this part isn’t easy; take your time and don’t rush. Find a couple of how-to videos and don’t over torque the manifold plenum bolts. Finger tight is good enough. The front brackets of the top manifold don’t actually need to be removed. Just remove the nuts and then the manifold lifts up and slides back towards the firewall. Once the upper and lower manifold are removed cover the intake openings with masking tape. The universal sensor on the OE unit will probably be stuck. Mine wouldn’t come out so I had to spend an extra $40 to replace that. Still cheaper than the OEM unit. I used the Fel-Pro gaskets just to make sure I was getting the best. And I replaced the spark plugs as they are exposed during this process. Final result….no more oil leak. What more could I ask for.

Nice quality product, comes with all the seals and bolts you need for installation, be sure to remember it takes a 2014 oil filter for a 3.6L Pentastar engine.
Perhaps an installation tip if you’re weary about this leaking ever again, apply some high heat engine silicone to the seals as well, the o ring up front is known to be the leaky culprit.

Rough surfaces in some spots where it probably should be smoother. But my main concern is the little bits of thin metal on the edges that could break away and ruin the engine.

Overall it seems like a decent part. I’ll take some steps to clean it up a bit wherever I see metal bits that could break off and float away. I may fine sand a small layer on the few rough surfaces after blocking the holes from ingesting dust. Not gonna spend more than 20 minutes on this

Spent the weekend replacing the heat exchanger. Therefore, I want to leave a review about the Doorman aluminum filter housing at 3.6. The product is of course far from ideal, there are a lot of burrs, but this is not the most important thing. After assembly, I start the engine and the oil pressure is 0. The sensors are not included with it, but I immediately ordered new ones and a pressure sensor also from Doorman. When the oil can is on and the pressure on the instrument panel is 0, it becomes very scary and it is no longer clear whether the engine is working normally or not. The kit also came with an oil filter, replaced it with the original, pressure 2 psi. As the engine warmed up, the pressure became 6, but no more. The car drives, it seems to be working fine, but the check light is on and the pressure is 6, no matter how many revolutions. The next day, I decided to try installing the old pressure sensor, I had to disassemble everything again, but fortunately there was no need to drain the oil and antifreeze. I unscrewed the old sensor and it was completely dry, oil also did not pour out of the filter housing, although there was oil in it, I saw it when I changed the filter.I installed an old sensor with which there were no problems before. I assembled everything (otherwise it is impossible to check the functionality) the pressure is 0. After this, it was decided to remove and study the heat exchanger. The channel for the oil pressure sensor was plugged, the hole was not made, so the oil did not flow to the sensor. I poked it with a screwdriver a couple of times and it made a hole. And naturally the flakes from this hole remained inside. After that I had to buy another one just like it from Autozone for 328$, but with a normal hole and it works fine, at least I have normal oil pressure now. So just in case, I couldnโ€™t find information about such a case anywhere. If you are changing a filter housing, first blow out all the channels, make sure that they are through, so as not to disassemble everything a thousand times or not pay for it at the shop. Sorry, that’s a lot of letters, but I spent the whole weekend on this)

installed this with no issues. Only thing I found was some metal from the manufacturing. I deburred the holes and blew it out so far its working great. You will need sensors. Mine were seized into the old housing. I would go OEM for the sensors.

Get rid of the junk plastic and add the upgraded aluminum. Easy installation fixed the problem. I have done many of these and more to come I’m sure.

I have a 2021 Jeep Gladiator with just over 104,000 miles and the Factory Oil Filter housing / cooler was leaking as most all will. This NEW Dorman 926-959 aluminum Oil Filter housing / cooler worked flawlessly! If youโ€™re not mechanically inclined, do not perform the work yourself! It was a time consuming process but best value for the money! It cost more than others but the quality from Dorman is better than the OEM. Come with all needed gaskets. You will need to reuse or install new sensor as well as youโ€™ll need to drain and refill your cooling system. Make sure to torque all bolts per Dorman and your ride will be leak free just like mine! (Note) Cheap no name oil filter cone with kit, so I installed a NEW Mobile 1 oil filter. Best to change oil at this time as well! Due to mileage I also replaced ALL spark plugs and Ignition Coils as well. Trust me, you might as well as youโ€™ll see why when you have to remove the upper and lower intake manifolds anyway.

Dorman had bad reputation, but they have stepped it up lately. This is a common problem with Pentastar 3.6 V-6 engines. The original oil filter housing is plastic. It tends to break or warp and leak oil and coolant. This kit is aluminum, and fixes this problem. It is kind of pricey, but compared to a replacement engine, well that goes without saying. It’s about a 5 hour operation, done right. This is a permanent fix to this leaking problem. For this reason, I am pre-emptively replacing this piece on my wife’s Jeep. It comes with an orange filter housing cap, signifying this job has been done. Although it is easy to see the aluminum housing. You’ll also have to use a different oil filter than the OE one. But there is a list of filter numbers on the side of the cap. It comes with all the gaskets that are needed to do the job. Some engines use two sensors on the back of the housing, some use one. For this reason a plug comes with the housing. All new bolts too.

Installed on 2015 Wrangler. Fixed leaks, which were not cracks in the OEM plastic. Seems to have been seals that gave out. Leaks gone. Nice unit. Good price.

Installed a few months ago and still no problem. Throw away the plastic OEM junk and replace it with Dorman alloy parts. That’s the way to go.
