I have a Traben Phoenix 4 string bass that is extra long scale. I play in drop C (CGCF) and these strings hold their tuning better than any other string on the market. The intonation is spot on up all 24 frets. I will not get any other strings for my bass – DR DDT for life!

As a bassists who has multiple basses and leverages multiple tunings, I was excited to try out these DDTs for my drop tuning songs. Went to tune after all strings were on and the E uncoils at the peg. I am giving it two stars because the other strings (at this time) work and they sound good. However, I have to spend more money to get another pack just to replace this E string.

Good sound quality. They’re perfect for lower tuning songs as the name suggests. The 115 low string has good sound and went as low as C# without getting too floppy. I enjoyed them on my low tuned basses.

However, were not good enough for every day use. I found the sound to be bright and well rounded, which is needed for such low tunings to cut through the mix otherwise you sound like mud. The strings do not last very long. After about 3 weeks of moderate to serious playing they go dead. Never broke one, but always replaced them out of lack of tone.

I just received these today (3-8-13) and was very excited about them. I play in a heavy metal band that tunes to CDCF and my ernie ball super slinky 45s weren’t cutting it, so I ordered these. I started putting them on and the tone was great. Once I but on the 4th string (C), it was just about tuned and it snapped. Maybe this was a fluke, but for someone that plays shows, this is completely unacceptable to have a string designed for low tuning, not be able to tune to C. No way these would tune any higher. I would avoid these. I ordered Ernie Ball power slinky 55s (same gauge as these DDTs)

I bought these strings hoping theyd be better than my current guage strings for drop tunings. While they are thicker they are not much better at all for drop down tuning and theyre causing quite a bit of fret buzz. Now i will have to pay a ton of money to have my bass set up and will buy new strings because these ones are quite muddy.

They have a severe manufacturing flaw where they are to enter the machinehead. While the string is strong in some places they are extremely weak at the end because they are not reinforced. I will not buy this brand again and warn others to stay away also.

Well, so i just put these strings on my bass because i wanted heavier gauge strings obviously only because i like the feel of thicker strings on my fingertips. I tune standard EADG so there was no problem when i put these on, they actually feel great and sound great as well. My only disappointment was that while i am tuning the G string, it breaks on the tuners side, it just popped right away. That was not the best experience after trying these strings for the first time but other than that, very good strings if you like thicker strings on your Beast.

So excited to try these strings, could only find online to put them on and have them defective…picture is the E string that was like this from the package. I tried to install and it’s not built right and was unraveling.

This is the 2nd set off Amazon that in 30 years of playing I have never had defective strings, this is within 1 year…support your local music stores!:)

Always fantastic strings from DR. This specific set feels great for a down tuned bass. I’m playing a Fender Geddy Lee jazz in C# standard for attack and lots of gutsy notes. Closest I’ve found to normal feeling strings in such a low tuning.

Acquistate per accordatura drop down CGCF.
