I love these things. I play a 45 minute set and they usually stay in tune the whole time. They’re easy to play, and they sound really good. They last a long time as well. I’ve been using these for a while now and am planning on sticking with them.

I have used these strings for years and can find no faults. They last forever, sound great, and are reasonably priced. The medium/light guage (11-50) offers the perfect combination for my style of playing. I’m not a heavy strummer, but if I choose to, they can take it. Since I play lead runs as well, the smaller guage allows easier streching, or bending, as they say. They just feel right. Now opinions about guitar strings can spark great debates about all types of vairables, but most accoustic guitar strings made today will be of a good quality material and suffice. You will not be disappointed. These strings are made of quality material, sound great to my ears, and reasonably priced.

Really great strings. I’ve been using Martin SP Lifespan Mediums for many years and found nothing to compare in a lower gauge string for my acoustic guitars. Then because of a hand injury to my left hand, I was forced to go to a lighter gauge string. But all the lights I tried seemed kind of thin and wimpy to my ear. Then a friend turned me on to these and i found they were different. They have a very sweet yet still a powerful sound to them. They are clear and the harmonics are just wonderful. They are a light gauge string with some balls. They’re easy to play and really have a great lifespan. The DR Rare is a really nice recording string too. If you have problems with medium gauge strings, I do highly recommend these.

I play a Breedlove Stage Concert with solid cedar top and solid rosewood sides/back. This is a standard fingerstyle wood combination, but it is often difficult to find strings that complement the mellow, warm response of a cedar top. My experience with most common phosphors and 80/20s is that they unacceptably harshen the warmth of cedar, giving a metallic tone that is not so much bright as is it clanging. On the other end, using silk and steels gives a tone too muddy to record. In contrast, the DR Rares are the perfect string for cedar tops and fingerstyle players. Bright enough to bring some sparkle out of the cedar/rosewood warmth, but not boomy or metallic. Also, the Rares have impressive volume for an 11-50 set (but your mileage may vary on a lower quality guitar).
I can’t comment on how these strings work for flatpicking on the average laminate back guitar, but for fingerstyle on a high-quality solid instrument, the Rares offer the perfect balance of warmth and sparkle and won’t disappoint.

I have been faithfully using DR strings now for as many as 10 plus years. I play professionally and need strings that hold up stay in tune and have a true sound. The biggest part I love about them is they are rare to break. In fact over the years using them I can bearly recall maybe 1 time I broke an high E.
I joined established rock band playing every weekend 3 YEARS AGO. The lead guitar player left and I was the new guy. I have always carried 1 guitar with me my whole professional life (Now age 50) my 1977 ( I bought new)Les Paul custom deluxe was all I ever used or needed I never had a backup. The guys were all concearned what if during a set I broke a string. When I told them its rare to never I break a string. Years ago I stwiched to DR stings 10 ga sets and now have that much confidence in them. They though I was crazy but after a few months of playing out with them they realized I was right. I tried all the different type 10 ga DR strings and they all hold up the same. I ususally change all strings out when working every weekend about every 6 weeks.I also use the DR green Bronze 11 ga acoustic on my Taylor and they are the same quailty I have confidence in. I just bought the new Zebra DRs for to try. Well worth the cost and piece of mind. Get a set youll see.

I’ve been using DR strings forever. They’re handmade and as long as you understand that since they are “fat,” and you might need to replace the pins that came with your guitar, you won’t ever be disappointed with the sound and quality of these strings. For my purpose, I don’t love the lower tension of these 11’s as much as the 12’s I generally use – but that’s on me. I chose to order 11’s this time. DRs are extraordinary strings. Great for high end instruments and will make low end ones sing!

Ce n’est pas la première fois que j’utilise ces cordes, je suis d’habitude pas déçu, au contraire j’adore leur son mais la, 24h après une pause normale et soignée, la corde de mi grave à lâchée au niveau de la mécanique.

I love the strings. They tune well and play great. Out of the box, they were dirty, however. It was not from finger reaction. They made my pick, fretting fingers and a white cloth I used to wipe down the guitar after all dirty. Luckily this wore off after about a week and I’m enjoying playing again without dirty hands and picks.
