I am 6′ 300lbs, built like an aging nose tackle…. with that said. This throne is very sturdy. I still got it even after seeing some reviews stating it keeps slipping and they had to readjust it. I am still trying to figure out what they had to keep adjusting. Once I set the height and tightened things down, the height has NOT changed at all.
I have a practice drum pad and nothing more that I use most for keeping my arthritic hands/elbows moving and try to keep what little grip str I have left. What I really use the throne for though is for VR games. Some I can/need to stand the whole time, others I can just use my computer chair. But for those times when neither is really appropriate or I need something in the middle, This works out great. I have leaned, ducked, stood up, spun around countless times and this throne does not care that it (me) is 300lbs and doing this.
My only gripe, my backside and the seat itself are still getting used to each other. It is very firm padding, just wish it had a little more give to it. and that is my only real reason for only 4 stars. would be 4.5 but they dont allow for 1/2 stars here.

Strong throne as expected from DW, No wabble, easy adjust, but the cusion is pretty hard, maybe it will soften over time. Anyway its just a seat for band practice.

I have been through a lot of drum stools…a lot…could be I am carrying a few more pounds than I should…don’t know and don’t care…this seat does the job, rock solid but comfy….no sore butt halfway through a rehearsal…..would heartily recommend this to anyone looking for a quality but reasonably priced throne…

Bought from Amazon warehouse at a discount. No regrets at all this is a sturdy throne. The clamp method of height adjustment is really strong. Sure it’s easy to spin your seat to adjust the height, but I’d say this is just as quick. Once you get the height you want, it’s very solid. I’m over 250 lbs and haven’t had any issues. Solid throne for a good price. The seat itself is a bit firm, but I’m sure it will soften over time.

The DW Drum Throne was the perfect solution to getting the husband to sit up straight during his Zoom calls. As an entertainer and Zoom Performer, the husband spent many hours during the initial virtual shows standing up while performing. Since he’s a magician, this wasn’t too different from performing on live stage, but instead of doing an hour show with a break to drive to the next show, he found that he was performing back to back shows with no breaks in between and getting much more sore and tired at the end of the day. The DW Drum Throne allows him to sit while performing and keeps him sitting in an upright position, unlike when he sits in an office or other backed chairs. The seat is very well cushioned, but firm and holds its shape well. He’s been able to do full 12 hour days full of shows without complaint, and he noted the seat has enough “give” to make it comfortable to sit in for long periods of time. The cushion rotates to give him a wider range of movements, doesn’t squeak at all while he’s rotating or shifting weight on the chair, and can be easily height adjusted with a turn on a knob. The throne also has a nice wide base so it doesn’t shift or feel like it’s going to tip over as he moves on it. It’s very well made and at the sub $100 price point, is a bargain for anyone who want to get a drum throne. It’s definitely worth checking out if you are looking for a set height, rotating, and comfortable drum throne.

Great stool for the price. The seat is pretty firm but is comfortable to play on. ( My guess is that over time it will soften a bit). The throne is super sturdy for a 200lbs person. I tried a $70 alternative and ended up returning it and buying the dw 3100. Totally worth the extra $30.

A solid throne and not too heavy

I’m a bassist, not a drummer. And purchased this primarily for practice to achieve the right height, posture, leg angle, yada, etc.
Arrived today in great shape, and it was easy to set up. It turns out I’m good with the seat in its lowest position so I didn’t need to use much force with the included drum head wrench to tighten the seat position clamp. On stage I didn’t detect any unwanted creaking or noise. I left the seat swivel clamp a little loose to spin freely and when sitting on it with my bass I found no whine or squeal when rotating slowly or a little quicker. I also appreciate the engineering detail in the leg brace clamp where the thumb screw does not make direct contact with the center tube. This will keep it looking nice with prolonged use, folding and unfolding.

This is a very nice throne. The seat is thickly padded yet not too soft. The bracing and legs are nice and thick and the rivets are tight making for a nice sturdy base. The range of height adjustment is excellent and very easy.
It is a pretty basic throne in that there is no gas cylinder for height, no screw height adjustment, and just a basic round seat. This is exactly why I love it. The height adjustment is quick and simple and holds great. I like the round seats and didn’t want a “bicycle” style seat, or a back rest, etc. I also didn’t want a post with fixed height positions like many of the lower end seats. So this one fit the bill perfectly. To me this seemed to be the nicest throne for under $100. If you’re looking for a classically simple yet exceptionally sturdy throne this is just what you need!

Excelente material y bonito modelo

It’s a very sturdy and comfy stool. A little firm but that’s how I prefer a stool. If the seat post is left a little loose you can certainly rotate with little wobble, or crank it for maximum stability. Without the memory lock yes its height may slip, so crank both the memory lock and post lock and you’ll be fine (I’m not that heavy, but heavy people have used it with no height issues). I’m sure there are better out there for more money, but I’m not a fancy man. I just want a tool to do the job reliably, and this performs. Worth a try.

If you’re looking at a lower cost throne, skip the others and buy this. Excellent product, well made. I bought another one with the spindle type and it was never 100% stable and had to return it. This allows the agility to adjust to the exact height you want (unlike those ones with the hole and pin) is 100% stable and firm. I love this thing. Highly recommended.
