If it’s durable, it’s the best beater I’ve tried. Not stated in description or reviews, is that you can lock the head into place with the included allen wrench if you are not a fan of the self-adjusting beater design. I have tried it locked/unlocked and it honestly feels great both ways. Not sure if the locked adjustment will hold under a repeated heavy foot without loosening but it feels so good unlocked, it shouldn’t matter. Balancing a beater against the weight of a pedal board is often an overlooked feature of pedal performance. Not only do you have adjustable weights and faces to choose from but DW also include a nylon sliding counter weight on the shaft. Much better than those 5, 10g, etc. steel weights if you ask me. Moving even slightly up or down the shaft greatly affects the pedal feel. Beater is 64g without weights installed making it lighter than the Sonor beater and the same weight as the Trick Pro 1-V but it has better reach than the Trick and the back-housing of the beater box provides more oomph than the Trick. Shaft itself is shorter than the other two beaters as well. Well thought out design that really allows for me to easily switch between techniques without having to make pedal itself adjustments. Again, if it’s durable, it’s my new favorite beater.

Without a doubt the best beaters I’ve used in 20+ years of drumming! Are they more expensive than most? Sure, but you’re getting what you pay for here and these blow the competition completely out of the water in quality, adjustability and feel. Don’t think, just do it.

I bought low boy beaters and then cut the backs off to make them the low boy light and then drilled out holes in them to make them lighter but they always felt clumsy. These control beaters from DW are freaking AWESOME. I can add or remove weight. I actually use them blank (no brass weights) with iron cobra 600 dbl pedals. I’m using the factory zero on the beaters and shortened the beater height to where I have two and a half finger widths of beater rod under the beater holder. They move fast, easy, and still give a good hit to the bass head (even though I play an E kit). I do not feel I have to really drive them with leg weight or by pushing down hard to get them to strike. I keep them light for quick doubles and they do the job very nice. I’ll probably use the low boys as kindling. For me there is just no comparison. I wanted light beaters for my old and tired body and for snappy doubles and got my moneys worth. Highly recommend. Also, I use the plastic face for my e bass (with a hand towel folded in have length wise covering the head to keep the slap of the plastic down). Not going back to what I had and no longer considering the Trick pro v 1 beaters. These control beaters from DW are what I needed to make my hobby drumming soooooo much better and fun for once.

I’ve been playing a Mapex Falcon double pedal for several years and while I love the pedal, I haven’t been thrilled that the beaters are non-adjustable (in angle) and the felt is permanent attached so not replaceable. I find the felt wears quickly so I’d be replacing beaters sooner than I’d like (and the falcon beaters seem to be on perpetual backorder).

I tried these DWs after reading some reviews and I love them. Adjustable head so you can easily obtain a perfectly flat to the head strike, felt seems durable, and the felt pad itself twists off so once worn you can simply replace the pad and not the entire beater. These also have weights (can use 0-4 weights) which is a feature I wanted to retain from my falcon beaters.

I am admittingly picky with my drum hardware (and hard on it) and I give a big thumbs up to these.

I love the custom options with these beaters. Four weights was too much, so I went down to two. Three might be the ticket for me and my DW MDD’s but that is what has me so impressed after an hour of playing. The options.

What isn’t covered on the options is that the beaters come with an allen and on top of the beater cam you can tighten the cam to the angle that gives you max contact instead of each stroke being self-adjusting as advertised.

I’m using the wood option and the diameter of the beater eats up my entire beater patch surface for an impressive thump. My kicks are undoubtedly louder and they have more presence. More rumble.

I was using Vater maple beaters previously. Just wow! What a difference.

The brass weights really change the overall feel of the pedals (play around with different combos and find what you like). So far the screw on beater pads have been great, they stay locked in. I also love they come with felt and plastic heads. I did have a little trouble keeping the beater head angle locked in at first. This was due to under tightening the set screw out of fear I was going too far. You just have to really tighten them down if you find they move. I would give them five stars, but I’ve only been using them for about two months.

Muy buena maza. La posibilidad de contrapesarla a tu gusto y cambiar el ángulo de percusión del mismo la hacen perfecta. Un acierto su compra. Muy recomendable.

I like these! Lots of adjustability. The nonfelt flat heads are perfect for electronic kick drum pads.

It reduced the acoustic beater noise substantially on a Roland KD10. The foam is dense and sturdy, the beater is well built. The red anodized backing plate is a really nice touch and adds just enough weight.
