I upgraded (side-graded?) from a Pearl Eliminator, which I’d been using for the better part of a decade, because I found all of the endless tweaking options with it’s interchangeable cams to be tedious and frankly was just looking for a change. The DW5000 was refreshing in it’s simplicity. It’s smooth and responsive. A nice perk is that the hoop clip has little rubber feet so that it doesn’t scratch up the hoop of your kick drum (unlike the Eliminator).
