Love this label maker. Use it for labeling my homemade fire cider and lotions. Love the look on amber bottles. Quick and easy to use.

I ordered and received the Dymo 1540 office mate 11. In horizontal mode it works great.
The problem came with printing labels vertically. The web pictures show a black machine and states it prints vertically as well as horizontally – it doesnโt. I called the company and they said my model only prints horizontally .
They told me I could return my machine and get an updated one. The new model would be the same model number.
I ordered a model that stated it did certain things which it does not. The updated model looks very different .
I donโt know why a highly different model wouldnโt have a different model number or name – very confusing.
I will keep this item as I donโt want to drive 20 miles to return it but I would be reluctant to do business with this company again. Very good product , questionable business practices.

I got a dymo embosser from Walmart that does 3/8 tapes I seen a review of this one that also does 3/8 tapes as well as 1/2 I think but a reviewer compared 2 embossers and used 3/8 tape and this one has bigger letters that’s why I bought this one there was a quick learning curve but once I mastered it it was easy the embossing tape is thick and sticks well, i originally used it on my pull out husky drawers

It’s been a while since I had or needed one, but when it was time to organize the bars for the hurricane shutters, this Dymo was perfect. The tool is easy to use, and the labels are easy to read–sharp and clear– and durable.

Not worth the money

For the younger generations that have never used a DYMO style labeler and especially for those that gave this 15400 model one star because it was difficult to use…
Yes, this DYMO labeler is old technology – it does not use batteries, it has no computer chips, can’t use Alexa to turn it on and no blue tooth to synch with your smart phone.
It is manually operated and has an instruction manual you can read to show you how to use it. The 154000 is easy to use just like a circa 1970s DYMO label maker I used to have. Not as well built as the vintage one used in the past, but it still works… it embosses letters by compressing them onto plastic tape to make a label. Yes, you must squeeze the unit hard to make the embossed impression and manually turn the wheel to each new letter to create a label. Then advance the tape and cut the label – manually. Hey it’s a manual label maker.
Suggest referring to the included instructions when changing out the plastic label tape. This model is a bit finicky to align, but once the tape is loaded in the proper slot it works well and stays in alignment. I rated it 4 stars because of its less than robust construction – while it does a good job that meets my needs, I am not sure how long this unit will last with occasional use.
Recommended for labeling/organizing work shop tools and storage. A place for every tool and every tool in its place. Gives the shop drawers, peg board and cabinets a nice retro 70s label feel too.

The old-school style 80s one works 500x better. It busts out the labels and maintains the retro aesthetic. Way better than the other model that breaks after one use. Not quite the same as the OG metal ones, but this gets the job done. Nice clear writing, I don’t think it is going to break in my hand while embossing. The current packaging includes an installed roll of black and an extra roll in the packaging.

Love it! I use it on my jars of bulk product and it works really well!
Daphiidoudou –
I wanted the embossed style labels, which this Dymo do well. Would have been nice to get some coloured label strips, it comes with basic black. Overall happy as it does what I need it for.

Good old stuff, nice and easy to use.
Jean Dube –
Good labeller, big letters and delivered on time. If there was a bigger choice of special characters would have been perfect. I do recommend this product as an economical solution to labeling. Good value for money.
Rocketeer2000 –
Barely used and letters were always misaligned. Now I can see why the letters were always misaligned from the picture. The wheel is soft cheap plastic. DYMO is no longer the quality embosser it once was. My original old classic DYMO lasted a little over 50 years. Thatโs rightโฆover 50 years.
To make matters worse, this was also a replacement of another defective DYMO model that I had purchased from Amazon and returned immediately as the letters were also misaligned.
Stay away from DYMO and try something else. Two failed models in a row is too much of a coincidence.

Worked great. Did exactly what I was expecting it too. A reviewer made a critical call on the difference between using the smaller tape and the wider tape. The two differences in width need to be LOADED into the proper slot. If you put the thin width through the wide loading point the letters will be uneven. Having said that, this label maker works really well. Press firmly (but not so firm that you break something) use the same pressure and the labels come out great. The cutter is located on the bottom, so when you have your label made, LIGHTLY click it a couple of times and then cut it off. Works much better than the older model. I ordered extra and have used up two whole rolls and have had absolutely no problem with this LM.
