This weight works well and does the job to make the patio heater stable. But it can be difficult to fill with sand so only 4 stars. Make sure you get sand that is BONE DRY! Preferably in a paper, not plastic bag (that retains moisture). This is essential to get the sand to pour through a funnel into the relatively small opening of these weights/containers. At first, I made the mistake to purchase a 50 lb bag of play sand from Ace Hardware, contained in plastic bags. This sand was damp and sticky and would absolutely not pour. Stuck with a 50 lb bag of sand I have no use for. Next went to a local stone/soil supply place where I could sample the sand before purchase. The sample all-purpose sand flowed nicely, so bought a bag of this one. But these were plastic bags that retain moisture and the sand in them was moist! So it would not flow either. Finally got Sakrete all-purpose sand in paper sacks from another local hardware supply. This stuff was indeed nice and dry and poured well through a funnel into the opening of the weight.

If you bought your patio/table top heater, this is a must have. I bought both before winter, kept me warm outside but I was huddled extremely close to the heater. The shield redirects the heat beautifully.
Assembly was pretty easy. I had my son help me, to get him away from the video games. We used a power drill to speed things up, which is optional. You could, if you wanted to, tightening everything by hand. There are TWO versions of this heat shield. I believe this one I’m reviewing has an extra arm/brace (for the Large Patio Heater) to ensure sturdiness. I’m just guessing which one it is based on the picture. If it is the one with the brace, we haven’t put that one together yet. Finally putting the big heater’s heat shield up. It’s planned for this weekend, along with the reflective cover to keep it from getting weathered.
All in all: is a great buy. It redirects your heat and it makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE. $40+/- to stay, not only warm, but toasty, since you bought this shield. Seriously though, I couldn’t believe how much of a difference this thing makes – and for a piece of metal. You won’t regret this purchase, for sure.
Install: Basing it off of the SMALL Tabletop Heater – installation was fairly easy! I’ll update once I get the Large Heater Shield installed.
Heat Output: These shields are amazing and I don’t recommend NOT getting one with the purchase of your heater.
Safety Features: not sure what Safety features this thing has. I mean, it’s a shield that is metal and it gets hot and you’re not suppose to touch it.

Excellent patio heater and with the deflector shield around the back of the heater, so you can direct the heat, which makes it even more efficient. Easy to install-easy to move into place-I highly recommend the unit. Also great customer service for questions or replacement parts.

I had ordered 2 East oak heaters a year ago, and due to my negligence, they had blow over and the heat reflector shields had gotten bent beyond repair. I was thrilled when I found that they made replacements for them. They shipped early and I received them and replaced the old ones with the new one. They fit perfectly and I am extremely satisfied!

I bought this about 2 months ago, after purchasing East Oak heater and seeing how fast the propane ends, I searched Amazon and I’m so glad I found this! Love it that it’s the same company as the heater itself since it fits perfectly, and of course it works so good and saves so much propane! I can really see the difference of usage, it saves a lot of money, I only have to turn it on low now and you still feel the heat coming so strong!

I bought this to use on my mainstay patio heater from Walmart. I wasn’t sure if it was going to work since my heater is not an east oak heater but I had zero problems setting it up on my heater. Last year I had bought a different heat reflector from east oak that did not have the support bar and let me just say that the support bar makes a huge difference, I no longer have to worry that the weight of the reflector will slowly bend the top of the heater. This definitely helps redirect the heat to where you want it.
