I bought this as an additional heat source. It was a gift for my wife. I assembled and tested the unit on 12/27/22 and tested the unit manually for about 2 hours. The next day,I tried to turn the unit on, it is completely dead, no LED, nothing. Checked and verified the power outlet, no issues from the wall socket. UI reported this issue to East Oak on 12/28/22. The message assured me I would here back within 24 hours. I did receive an email from East Oak the next day asking me a couple of questions (was I using the remote and what color was the LED lights) I responded right away saying the unit was completely dead and I was not using the remote. I have heard nothing for the last 6 days. When I called the service number, I received a message saying the mailbox was full. I have attempted to let East oak correct this issue w/o going back through Amazon, but it looks like I will have no option but to return the product through Amazon. Horrible customer service, avoid this company at all costs! I will update if something changes.
Update: Company service representative contacted me after a number of days. After that contact, a new heater was sent out to be at no charge. Would have preferred to have it handled that way from the start, but I am willing to chalk this up to the holiday time of year. The replacement unit is functioning fine on day #2. One other note. I have another IR heating unit from a different mfg, and I can say that the amount of light coming off the East Oak lamp is much lower than the other unit. That is a good thing, very noticeable difference.

I purchased this heater with its own stand. I tried it a few times on the stand and then I decided to hang it from the ceiling of the patio using the provided L bracket. I think the stand gives you more flexibility (adjustable height) but hanging it makes it more discrete and out of reach for young kids. The remote works well and offers three heating levels. The heater operates at 120V (standard plug) without problems (your wire should not feed simultaneously other electricity thirsty equipment). Heating is immediate and sufficient at least for the Southern California winter.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the purchase.

We got this heater for our outdoor spa to help take the edge off on those cold and chilly nights. Let me tell you that this thing is amazing. We have left it on for hours of use and it has worked flawlessly. The remote control was an unexpected surprise as it allows me to heat up the area before we go out. The heat is radiant and not direct so you don’t get that burring sensation but feel an overall warmth. The effective heating range is about 10 ft from the unit which is perfect for out use and most people use. Current draw off the wall is about 12 amps so works on most 15a home breakers with some room to spare for other electrical needs. Given the approval from the product, I would order 3 or 4 more units to keep us warm and toasty at night.

We have had a pair of these for about 6 months. They are working well. They are a little more challenging to move around than I expected. It would be a nice improvement if they had wheels on the base so you could tip the heater onto its wheels to make them easier to move. They respond well to both the remote and the on heater controls. We have used them for about 20 nights so far to keep us warm during dinner.

Solid portable heater and worth the price. Easy to assemble although no directions were included with our unit. We do not use for indoors. We use for an outside patio on it’s stand so we can move/adjust. It delivers heat that can be felt up to 4-5 ft away if no wind/breeze…..if windy or breezy then only 1-2 ft. Only issue is when we turn the heater angle left/right or up/down while in use it shuts off. Not a big deal as you need to turn it back on. This could be a safety feature built in, but not sure as it does not say in the manual. It would be a greater source of heat if it had a small fan with a couple of speed options built in to push the heat out with some force which would help with heat delivery if there is a slight breeze/wind.

We used this unit a little bit, but very minimal and was happy with it. Stored in my garage and just pulled it out and can not get it turned on- acts like it has no power! Verified outlet was working. Sent an email to company, so pending that outcome will determine if the rating stays the same or not. It appears in other reviews, this has happened before.

We use this heater behind the couch on our enclosed patio. Excellent heat. After several years we had a problem with the bulb. One email to warranty and I had a new heater 2 days later. Great customer service.
