I bought these as a Thank you for my musical friend. This color is vibrant and fun. The drums are excellent quality. I would have paid more if I had known the quality would be this nice. My musical friend plays them a lot. He said the sound they produce is crisp and clear. They are easy to tune, easy to play and easy to travel with. He has started to teach his son about these bongos. As a buyer,, I highly recommend them as great value for money. As a music man, my friend highly recommends them for excellent quality and even better sound. He has added them to his live performances. ACRK

I think they are actually bongo and not congos. Need clarification on that.
I’m a newbie but am having fun with these! They sound great although I may need to tune them a bit. Lots of helpful videos on certain sites. Learning different rhythm’s.
I think to tune the best there is a video of a man playing his on here and that’s what you aim for. His sounds great
The bag is nice has handles and a strap to put on if needed. There is a small one sided wrench to tune.
The set is beautiful antique looking skins ( heads) rich red wood and stainless steel. I suggest not using drumsticks on these only your hand!

These are really nice Bongos. Sound is rich and full. Good looking finish. Quality built. When I ordered them it was stated that they would be delivered in two days. Ok, great. They didn’t arrive so I looked at it again to find in the information it is stated that this is an item that gets returned a lot? Ok, #1 well I’ve already ordered them. #2 Canceling the order and ordering again isn’t going to get me anywhere faster? So after 5 more days I am notified that my bongos are shipped. So, the bongos are great, I love them and worth the wait so I would have to assume that a few people just got tired of waiting.

Those are real double rim bongos. The natural wood and real skin heads give them a warm and resonant tone. One of my skins has a slight blemish, I guess it’s due to using natural materials instead of man-made, but it doesn’t affect the sound. I use mine to go play with friends, and the carrying case is great, especially because carrying the bongos in the rain could affect the skins and the tuning.
The bongos are playable out of the box (video) but most people would prefer to have a higher tone: simply use the wrench provided to turn the bolts at the bottom. Turn each bolt 1/4 turn, then decide if you like the sound. or repeat tightening the bolts until you like it. If you use YouTube videos to learn how to play, try to tune to roughly the same tone as in the video, it helps! You may hear some creaking, but it’s natural when using natural materials, don’t be scared to play with the tuning. The wrench comes with a fabric bag to prevent it from banging around when carrying the bongos, which is a nice touch.
Fun fact: the smaller drum is called the “macho” (male), and the larger drum is called the “hembra” (female). Play with the bongo between your legs, with the macho on the left.

My community has “drum circles” where random people com with their percussion instruments and play together. Great to learn about all kind of rhythms. The bongos are a great instrument for this because they are easily portable and are easy for beginners: at first just do simple slaps of the drum (maybe copying someone else’s main beat), but as you become more confident you can use thumb and fingertip strikes ans use both drums as you learn more complex patterns.

Would make our beatnik forefathers proud! I was dubious of these at first, being so affordable, but the construction is extremely sturdy and high-quality, with the drumskin attachments strong and well-crafted. The skin is real and well-conditioned also, which allows for a range of sound from quite soft to strikingly (pardon the pun) loud.
The bongos are light and come with a very well-padded, high quality case- another pleasant surprise! The case has a strap for you to take them anywhere, useful for practice or music therapy etc. As you can hear, they can produce a fine and resonant tone, even sitting loose on the ground. They appear to soothe the savage beast, too- very impressive instrument, and a wonderful introduction to percussion for beginners or advanced musicians alike.
