performs consistently and looks like quality components. My fuel pressure gauge reads a steady 5.

I replaced the fuel pump that came with the car with this Edelbrock pump and it has smoothed out the engine idle making me believe the original pump was not supplying enough fuel.

I purchased to replace the older 1721 I had for 18 years that went bad. Couldn’t find a rebuilt kit. This newer version is re=engineered. Meaning, it’s been cheapened. The casting is lighter and more skimpy. Less bolts holding the body together. Pretty sad. They should have it as a different part number than the previous model.
I had to re-plumb for the fuel lines. Was hoping just to drop it in and be done. This is actually the 2nd one I ordered. The first one was defective and did not pump at all. That was hard to believe. Gave me fits for awhile. Primed it before installing. Nothing helped. Then I finally took a bottle and direct feed with gas and still no pumping. Returned for a replacement and it fired up instantly BUT didn’t last long at all.

Seen the bad reviews and ignored most of them since nothing comes perfect anymore … but this is some cheap cast. edelbrock should be ashamed to have their name on these parts . Thread hole looks casted was missing threads in the middle , they won’t acknowledge you as a customer and even state that any damage to the thread hole is on you and they are not responsible for it … knowing those threads are complete garbage . By no means is this thing priced cheap . But it’s made worse then a knock off OEM Chinese pump . Don’t waste your money . Thanks edelbrock . For leaving me out to hang with this one . Losing $250 plus cause you guys won’t value your own quality issues ain’t no chicken feed. Whole project truck was built off edelbrock parts , expected better from you guys

Lleva dos meses instalado y funciona my bien en mi chevrolet 350, la marca no la trae grabada en el cuerpo sino que incluye una calco manÃa que no le pegué

I like the brand and the look of the fuel pump. I dislike the fact that it came without the Edelbrock tag on it. Don’t know why this happened but I don’t like it everything else should be fine, I’ve had one before.

By site, this fuel filter looks very formidable and heavy duty, But it does not offer a recirculation feature that OEM had. I was fearful of possible vapor lock and did not use it.

This fuel pump works great. I needed to add a fuel pressure regulator to get it to work well with my tri-power setup (three Rochester 2 bbl carbs) because Rochesters do better with only about 4 psi, but otherwise I had no problems at all with this pump. I have about 400 horsepower and this pump delivers all the fuel I need. I figured why mess with electric pumps when you can have a simple mechanical pump like this that works fine without any hassles? It’s a little bigger than a stock mechanical pump, so you might want to consider that if you don’t have much clearance in that area. The big red sticker stuck out like a sore thumb on my traditional style hot rod, but it was easy to peel it off.
