I was able to drive in a police car in police story!

With the popularity of iRacing and online racing came affordable racing at home setups. During this pandemic lock down nonsense a record number of people got into racing games, and online racing. This game looks like a blast and would be great with an actual steering setup, but they refuse to build it. What a joke! Who drives cars with joy sticks? They need to put a big warning on it saying it is not compatible with steering wheels. This takes it down to the level of a pretty Donkey Kong game in my opinion. Hey guys, even Pole Position used an actual steering wheel.
I wouldn’t have bought it had I’d known. It’s a download, so no refunds.

As amazing as Forza is, as fun sa Gran Turismo is, and as arcade-y as Burnout is, this game blew them away on the 360, and continues to do so even 12 years later. NFS:HP Remastered is a glorious triumph in the racing genre. Do not miss this if you have an XBsX or PS5!

It’s specifically racing only and no open world driving. It’s a good game but the lack of ability to explore is disappointing.

NFS: Hot Pursuit was one of my favorite games of the early PS era. When this came out, I was both excited and nervous, as there are two types of remakes: One that is faithful to the original, only sprucing up the graphics and making some Quality-of-Life changes; and one that uses an old name and concepts to prop up essentially a new game.
This is the latter. It’s fine in the sense that it’s still a fun enough racing game, and you can still play as police, but they seem to have forgotten the soul of the game during the remaster. Damage to cars is now irrelevant and actually encouraged; you don’t “pull” other cars over as the police, but rather have to wreck them. Damage incurred during the race doesn’t cost any money after. It’s less laps of a race and more “Go from destination A to destination B”.
I will admit that I haven’t explored all of the game – I’ve played maybe 10 hours – but I would have a hard time believing that the soul of the game magically appears later.
