Got this as an early Christmas present for my family and set up a home theatre in the basement. Very impressed with the ease of set up and quality of the product. The built in speaker in adequate but would definitely recommend getting some blue tooth speakers. I am projecting on to a 100 inch screen from about 14 feet and the image quality is excellent. If you can get this on sale you will not be disappointed.

Can view nicely even in daylight. Built in sound is decent.

Everything is fine except there is one big problem: the entire screen cannot be focused, either the upper part or the lower part is blurred!

my 4th Epson as a replacement for a lightning-storm damaged projector. Arrived quickly and was very easy to get mounted and up and running.
The Good: good value for money, decent picture, decent brightness and contrast. fast, easy setup and adjustment, standard epson settings menu for those accustomed…
The Bad: Epson, please stay away from Android tv unless you are going to properly integrate it to the projector with a single remote much like a tv. Hiding a mediocre android stick in the projector and providing a 2nd remote is… just wrong…
Only 2 HDMI ports with no other ports at all other than a USB for powering up the onboard Android tv stick, with the projector defaulting to the onboard android tv stick when powering on, regardless of what was last used. This is resolved by removing the android stick and plugging in better source device. In my case an NVidea Shield Pro and a Firestick 4K Max.
The external illumination being on when not operating is really annoying, as we have the projector installed from the ceiling right above our pillows. There is a blue led that is lit when plugged in. it is bright enough to cast shadows on the bed when trying to sleep. You can turn it off in the settings, but only when operating. Turn the projector off and the light comes back on. This was easily solved with electrical tape. this was not an issue on my last epson.
I’ve yet to really put the projector through it’s paces and will update with further impressions.
Overall a good value buy and I would recommend for most rooms, just get rid of the mediocre Android TV stick.

I replaced my Sony AW10 that was top of the line at the time of purchase. This Epson is about 2.5 brighter and a step up in resolution. The other deciding factor is its “throw” capability – it fits my media room screen from over 15 feet back. Most projectors I see in this price range are “short throw” I can have my window blinds open in the middle of the day and still have a great picture that is on a 105” screen with great clarity, contrast and motion. This would be a good selection for gaming as well – I use it for TV and movies.

Downsides: Its about twice as loud ( fan) as my old projector but its ok because i have a big surround sound system.
It always starts up on its home screen, Google and other apps. I dont ever use them because i connect through a Denon amp and use an Apple TV – so I have to switch over to HDMI output every time i start up.

Overall, I’m very happy with it. Great value for the price.

Update: I did a little research and cured the issue above with the home screen. You can remove the Google module that is attached under the removable cover plate. I plugged my HDMI cable to that connection and the projector starts with my home system…the Apple TV…instead of the Google app home screen. Presto!

The epson 2350 is their newer model. A bit pricey @ $1299. I installed this projector as a ceiling mount 12′ from my screen (elite 1.1 gain screen). I also calibrated this projector (using i1 pro meter + HCFR calibrating software). The settings I used when calibrating (Color mode – Natural, Lamp mode – Standard). Once calibrated, you can expect lumens/brightness levels to decrease by about 25% from the published epson specs. It just work this way-out of the box, without calibration, these projectors are setup to be much brighter. Regardless, this projector after calibration was outstanding – I installed this projector as a ceiling mount 12′ from the screen (used projector zoom to set and show a 110″ diagonal picture). If you increase the zoom (to show a larger picture) brightness will naturally decrease.
Here are the results (after calibration).
Brightness Level – 33 foot lamberts (1450 lumens) – this is as good or better than the epson 3800.
Color Accuracy – Using HCFR color checker. I measured a delta E of <2.5 (anything less than 3.0 is considered very good).
Gamma – I calibrated to a 2.25 gamma. I used the custom gamma adjustment. Accurate & very good.
HDR – this is the only minor weak, works and looks ok but not like high end projectors. Set to 5 or 6.
4K enhancement – does a good job upscalling your 1080p input. Quite a sharp image. Work well.
As a side note, out of the box (without calibration) this projector looked pretty good – using and setting lamp to standard and color mode to natural. Bottom line – very bright and color accuate. I do not use for gaming. This projector is used for watching movies, sports or when setup to use my golf simulator. Hope this helps.

I needed a projector to pull out from time to time to play a video or video game on the wall when company is over (our dedicated TV is in a bedroom). In deciding between this and an equivalent Optima, I preferred the Optima for having potentially better picture quality, more inputs and output connections… but ultimately trusted Epson as a brand from a few other Epson products I have. So far I’m pretty happy.

    Pros:
    >Good bright picture
    >AndroidTV (so I can play shows directly from the projector without a separate device)
    >Quiet operation

    Cons:
    >remote not super intuitive (the square+arrow button is how to get to your hdmi input)
    >having to set up androidTV/google play and trying to get the google home app to work as a remote
    >picture is a bit red/orange and there’s no color settings you can mess with

If I were doing a permanent installation in a theater room, I’d get something a bit more high quality in picture with better connectivity (like optical audio out… this only has a small 3.5mm stereo, i.e. headphone, output), but as something to store in a closet and pull out from time to time, it fits the bill and I have piece of mind knowing as an Epson it’s not about to just randomly break or blow up on me.
