Diogenes –
Ernie Balls known to create “the bass strings”. The 95s are smooth and bright, with a real punch just perfect to outstand in a gig or in a record.
Mario –
Great feeling, great sounding, long lasting strings.
Mack M. –
I’m a guitarist who plays bass on their own records. I don’t often play bass and find that Ernie Ball stays pretty fresh for a good number of months when not playing often. If you’re playing daily or a few times a week then you’ll probably end up with dull strings in a little under a month.
The tone is good but I also don’t put too much stock in string brands for tone as most of it is coming from the player and I don’t obsess over that part on bass. The break-in period isn’t long. You can break these in within 24 hours if you restring, play for an hour, then let them sit.
I’m used to Ernie Ball from years of playing guitar and they’re always reliable and never had a complaint about the strings. They’re great everyday strings and I wouldn’t criticize anyone for using them. I don’t use them on guitar anymore but wouldn’t have a problem with using them again if I had to.
Robert Murray –
I know this comes down to personal preference. However, I’ve been using slinky’s forever and ever on my guitar. Decided to use them for my bass and they do not disappoint. When wound right, the tension is perfect and the smoothness of the strings is fantastic.
Bill P. –
Everything is playable, and the highest 4 strings sound great. The 5th string (my B string) sounded incredibly dead right out of the package.
I looked up if there was an issue with how I installed the strings. I found a forum post talking about taking the string out of the saddle, letting it untwist if there was an unwanted twist, then putting it back in. This did not help, so I am relatively confident that there is just something with the deepest string being either defective or bad.
4 out of 5 stars because 4 of the 5 strings sound great.
Allef Adiel –
Good seller. The price is right. And the strings sound great. Happy with purchase.
Ron_Snake99 –
Needed some strings for a bass guitar that I purchased from a friend. I play guitar but never had a bass. These were pretty cheap and they seem to be just fine. I’m satisfied with them.

Ernie Ball strings are really the standard against which all other strings should be judged. Consistent quality, bright sounding, no excessive tension, no excessive fret wear, and long lasting. I have several basses with these strings that I installed years ago and they still sound really good to me. Then again, my idiom for bass is not the super bright slappy stuff so popular now, it’s more like the old Jamerson Motown sound. Great product, good price, I’m happy with these.

Lora Larson –
This brand of strings you cannot go wrong. Last long sound great Love this product.
Jack Albert –
Great bass strings for very low tunings. I play in drop A and these do the job just right.

Sounded great. I have a 4 string PJ bass by Jackson, the strings were easy to install and sounded great. the first few tunes sounded kinda strange because i wasnt used to this thickness and i think it took a while to stay in tune, but after use these sound great and stay in tune for days. (As for the photos yes I know i tuned the top and bottom string backwards)
