Knives are similar to cars and women. Some you like. Some you don’t. I like this knife. It’s a good all-around size. Very sharp, very tough. Not difficult to sharpen. It does require some type of anti-rust coating on the blade, however, as it is made of 1095 steel. I carry this knife when I’m working in my pasture. If I were to go hiking I might rather take the bigger ESEE 5 and a smaller pocket knife, but for everyday use this is a good knife.

lo utilise solo en pruebas de corte y emplumados de madera liviana, no retiene bien el filo igual que un 420 o 5cr15 …un acero 14c28N o un 440C incluso un Chino 8cr13 sera mejor… hice revision para mi canal de Youtube y si pudiera lo devolveria para comprar un cuchillo Chino o Espaniol de marca registrada, entiendan que cuchillos de este tamanio seran los que compartiran nuestros alimentos en un campamento o en situasiones de supervivencia, cortar pan, queso, jamon, carnes, pelar frutas y vegetales en nuestro campamento… y el recubrimiento nos intoxicara? …se oxidara rapido el filo pelando fruta? …cuchillo sobrevalorado como la linea Ka-Bar ni siquiera trabaja bien en madera liviana… me quedare solo con mi Esee 6 para tareas en madera livianas (no hago batoning) …este cuchillo en 440C seria genial, pero no vale lo que piden.

Il coltello va bene, è la versione senza fodero. Però il pacco è stato spedito senza scatola. È stata semplicemente applicata l’etichetta di spedizione sulla scatola originale del coltello, dunque è tutta rovinata e con l’etichetta che la rovina ancora di più. In oltre non rispettando la privacy di quel che ho acquistato. Male. Soprattutto poi per chi è collezionista e voleva la scatola originale ben tenuta

First impressions- awesome! I bought this version without a sheath. I do leatherwork so no big deal. I will fashion a sheath. This knife is everything I expected and more. The size is perfect for bushcraft. After having bought this one for my outdoor adventures I sure as heck am going to get the esee 5 for my survival vest. Love this knife.

Ich habe lange überlegt ob ich das ESEE nehmen sollte oder doch lieber ein Modell aus Schweden. Die Aussage das es sehr einreich unterwegs zu schleifen ist hat mich dann aber überzeugt. Nachdem ich es mit Ballistol eingeölt habe und es sich auch sehr einfach mit dem Blauen Brocken schleifen liess habe ich mir noch ein Zweites gekauft. Ich würde mir auch ein drittes kaufen wenn ich eins verliere, dann aber in einer Neonfarbe da meine sehr gut getarnt sind wenn sie auf dem Boden liegen.

My friend told me I’d like this knife. I rolled my eyes, but bought it anyway, because I liked the look – instantly became my favorite EDC knife. The size and weight are perfect for me (5’10, avg) might be a bit small for larger hands. Incredibly sharp, amazing lifetime tranfeable warranty, durable, and high quality. My handle came grey, but I soaked the micarta in cutting board oil (let it pool and rest on each side for an hour) and it developed a lasting and beautiful black.

Ich habe mir das Messer als EDC gekauft, im Glauben, dass es praktisch ein Mora mit flacherem Griff wäre.
Den flachen Griff hat es, und wenn man eine passende Scheide (und ausreichend tiefe Hosentaschen) hat, lässt es sich gut verdeckt tragen.
Aber da hören die positiven Seiten auch auf.
Die Klinge ist deutlich dicker als nötig wäre (ca. 6-7mm) und verjüngt sich zur Spitze fast nicht, was kombiniert mit dem recht stumpfen Schneidenwinkel (ca. 40°) dazu führt, dass sich das Messer kaum zum Schnitzen eignet und sich auch nicht brauchbar schärfen lässt. Klar, man könnte die Griffschalen abnehmen und das gesamte Messer zu Flachschliff umschleifen, aber die Arbeit ist es nicht wert. So wie man es geliefert bekommt, scheint das Messer primär als Spaltkeil (Batoning) und Brecheisen gedacht zu sein.
In der rauen Beschichtung bleibt alles mögliche hängen, so dass die Klinge auch nicht wirklich sauber zu bekommen ist, ohne Schwamm und Spülmittel zu verwenden.
Außerdem ist das Markenzeichen auf der Klinge nicht, wie ich angenommen hätte, aufgedruckt, sondern anscheinen durch die Beschichtung eingelasert. Entsprechend ist dort der Stahl offen und fängt fast sofort an zu rosten.
Wer ein echtes Allzweckmesser braucht, ist mit einem 10€ Mora um Längen besser dran. Das kann man dann zwar nicht als Brecheisen einsetzen – aber wie oft braucht man das schon? – und für alle Messertypischen Anwendungen, einschließlich Batoning, ist es besser geeignet.
