This power supply is great. It may not be as awesome as other modular power supplies but it has an ample amount of power to get almost any system up and running. I’ve used this power supply in two system builds and it works like a champ. In one PC I can power up a gtx 760, 1 SSHD, 1 Hue+ led lighting system, 3 corsair led 120mm fans+3 Phanteks 140mm fans, 1 Intel Haswell Pentium CPU, and 8gb of ddr3 crucial sport ram (not sure if there’s anything else to power up but that’s the jist of it). Of course you won’t be able to get SLI or Crossfire configurations set up with this power supply (if you think so, probably go find a different power supply because this isn’t the one for you). But powering up your budget to mid-range computer builds will be sufficient with this choice to power supply.
When it comes to cable management, it can be somewhat of a test of your creativity with how you organize the cables. This is neither a fully modular or semi-modular power supply (meaning the cable are permanently fixed to the power supply and are not detachable. Google/Youtube it if you still are confused by modularity). Some cases will be great to house this power supply, as some cases are excellent for stashing away those gaudy cables (they’re not bad the cables, it just looks cool if you can keep your cables hidden in your PC). In one case I had, the cables were everywhere but in some newer, more pricier cases I now own, the cables from the power supply are about 96% tucked away from view.
The unit itself is not huge at all. The power supply does have a fan. So in some cases you could position your PSU so that it faces downwards into a dust filter that many cases provide, or you can opt to point it upwards so that airflow travels in a different direction (this is assuming you place your power supply in the basement/bottom of your case).
All in all, I don’t have much else to report on this power supply, other than to say, if you’re debating on trying to save some money in your system build (or maybe even in need of a new power supply) this is a marvelous choice, and I definitely give this a 5 stars. And pleaaaase don’t say this item does not work or came defective and put a 1 star review. Just request a refund from Amazon and ship it back for FREE to the manufacturer and go buy another power supply or go with a different brand.

I have a Dell Inspiron 530 mini-tower, Core2 Quad. It’s about 8 years old, but upgraded little by little. It’s my workhorse.
A few months ago, my system started having problems turning on. I leave it on most nights to run BOINC jobs. It could have been the few power outages every now and then, damaging the power supply. Pressing the power button sometimes would not turn on the computer. I would have to unplug the power cord for a day, then plug it back in, and try to turn it on. It was a 50/50 shot. If it didn’t work, I would have to unplug and wait another day. After a couple of months, I got tired of it and did some research, which pointed to the bad power supply. I decided to try the power supply replacement.
It took a little searching, but finally found out the power supply was a standard ATX size. The original power supply, Delta DPS-350VB-1A, matched a few listings in Amazon, but I didn’t like a lot of the reviews for the ones that matched that model number. I decided to just look at all the replacement power supplies that were standard ATX sizes. I made up a short list, and decided on this EVGA 500W 80Plus model. (After I placed my order, I found out I could have bought the slightly better one for the same price, EVGA 500W 80Plus Bronze. Oh well). The reviews were very good, not all over the place like some other brands. I decided not to go much higher than my original 350 watts. I wasn’t planning to add a new video card.
Prime shipping, two days later, got my package. I removed the old PSU and connections, installed the new PSU and connections in about 10 minutes. Perfect fit. Took a minute to double check everything. Closed it up and powered up. Good as new. Time will tell, but I hope I can keep this Dell Inspiron 530 running for at least another couple of years.
I like all the connections available with this model. I had installed some power splitters previously, but now not needed. The cabling is nice, wire bundles are protected nicely. Unfortunately, the mini-tower is a little cramped with these all these larger power cables. Had to do some creative winding to fit cables into some voids to keep airflow inside.
Highly recommended.

Direct replacement. Easy to install.

It works great. It’s simple and does exactly what it needs to. No power cable included and the lack of an on/off switch knocks off a star for me. The ketchup and mustard cables are not for me either. With these complaints out of the way, it’s well worth the $35.

Muito bom

Does what it says, does exactly what is expected. Would be nice if it was modular, but that is an option for more money. Would be nice if some of the cords were a touch longer, but again…more money solves that problem. As it is, it’s a good quality power supply for the price. Quiet fan inside, no real complaints whatsoever.
