FIFINE Dynamic Microphone For Podcast Recording

I am absolutely thrilled with the Fifine AM8 microphone! As someone who does a lot of content creation, podcasting, and streaming, I’ve used a variety of mics over the years, but this one truly stands out. The sound quality is crystal clear with great depth, and it captures my voice with incredible accuracy. Whether I’m speaking softly or projecting my voice, the AM8 handles it perfectly, and there’s no distortion whatsoever.

Setup was incredibly easy – just plug it into my computer, and it was good to go. No complicated software or drivers needed! The build quality feels premium, and it has a sleek, modern look that fits well with my setup.

I’ve also noticed that background noise is very minimal, thanks to the directional cardioid pattern. This is a huge bonus for my work environment, where there are some ambient sounds. The mic’s performance in reducing unwanted noise is simply impressive.

Overall, the Fifine AM8 delivers fantastic performance at a price that can’t be beaten. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned professional, this mic provides exceptional value for money. I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a reliable, high-quality microphone!

For like half the cost of the Blue Yeti, this is about the same quality sound (this is a good thing). I know people tend to dislike plastic mics because they think they feel cheap, but tbh I actually quite like the plastic they used, it feels nice. Visually, the mic is great, love how simple but effective the LEDs are, and the build quality is really nice. USB port works great, the biggest problem I had with the Blue Yeti was the usb port being very loose, this one has a very solid one. Only thing that brings my review down from 5 stars is that for some reason the direct mic monitoring through the microphone port on the mic itself is controlled by the output volume for system sound on the computer it’s connected to, so you either have to deafen yourself with the extremely loud system sound through the mic (it feels like I have to turn it to 1% to be able to even hear myself think) or turn it way down (that wasn’t sarcasm, when I’m playing games I usually literally have to turn the system volume to 1%, and then turn the game volume itself down) and be basically unable to hear your voice with the mic monitoring. Super good mic at this price point though.

I purchased the bundle with this microphone and the heavy-duty boom arm as an upgrade from the mic on my gaming headset for streaming on Twitch, and the sound quality is undeniably a lot better. I actually read a couple of articles and spent two days perusing different options before settling on this one. Limited space was one of the biggest factors, alongside sound quality / polar pattern, since I have a lot of BG noise. This item also has more genuine positive reviews (according to Review Checker) than a LOT of more expensive items.

Despite being made of plastic, the microphone feels very solid; the plastic itself is thick & has good weight to it, with a satin finish. The RGB lights are a bit bright for my low-key stream, so I keep them off; but if you have a neon / RGB aesthetic it’ll fit right in.

It’s pretty much Plug & Play with the USB connector, and of course having the option to upgrade is really nice. Using Windows & OBS, setup required no extra clicks beyond adding the mic as a source and adjusting filters. Tap-to-mute function is receptive, so you don’t have to mash it. Most importantly, my voice is much clearer and more crisp, and you can’t even hear all the fans running in the background (which was a HUGE issue before)!

The boom arm can honestly be a little intimidating at first. Just be careful which way you try to bend it, and hold it by the joints while adjusting. But it rests right into a simple vice clamp mount, which is padded so it won’t wreck your tabletop. After a few tries, setting it up literally takes 90 seconds. It would’ve been nice to receive something to store the boom arm in; for now I’ve been using the box it shipped in…

I also recommend setting up the clamp mount first, adjusting the boom as closely as possible to the desired position, and then setting the arm into the clamp mount to reduce strain on the moving parts & extend their lifetime.

Overall, I’m pleased I chose this option. Setup is quick and simple. It works well in the limited space that I have by fitting onto the edge of my table and honestly, after sitting with it for a few minutes, I completely forget it’s there. (Thankfully I got the heavy-duty boom cause I KNEW I’d bump into it lol)

If you’re a streamer, content creator, podcaster, etc looking for a decent starter mic that’ll sound & look good without breaking bank, and especially if you have limited space, give this one a shot. I’ll probably be sticking with it for a long while.
