FIFINE XLR/USB Gaming Microphone Set With RGB

I have nothing but good things to say about this microphone. If you don’t want to read a long review, the tl;dr: This is a great plug-n-play microphone that has great sound quality and a price that can’t be beat.

When the pandemic hit in 2020, I started playing online games with friends. When things went back to normal a few years later, we kept playing online as many of us had moved to different areas of the US.

During that time, I used a nice set of bluetooth headphones and that was adequate. We mostly played strategy games, board games, or poker games where sound quality didn’t matter.

In 2024 we hopped on the Helldivers 2 train and the bluetooth headphones just weren’t cutting it. To use the microphone with bluetooth, you have to accept the sound changes from full stereo to hands-free mono. For a game like Helldivers 2, that just didn’t work. I couldn’t hear anything at all.

So I decided to invest in a microphone. I know nothing at all about microphones and just wanted something relatively cheap that would work. I did a little research and the main thing people said was to get a “dynamic mic” as opposed to a “condenser mic”. Shocker, the dynamic mics are more expensive, often costing $100+.

I ended up getting this Fifine, which was significantly cheaper. And to be honest, I wouldn’t be able to tell it was a cheap model. The quality of this mic looks really good and feels solid. It uses USB-C which is nice, and even has an XLR jack for the serious audio people (I don’t know anything about this — I just use the USB jack).

It is seriously plug-n-play. It took me all of 5 minutes to unbox and get set up at my desk. It just…works.

The only additional recommendation I’d make. Even though this is supposed a “dynamic mic” which only picks up sounds right next to the mic, I found this still picked up all my keyboard strokes and could even pick up mouse clicking.

The solution to this if you have an Nvidia card is Nvidia Broadcast. It is free and it has some sort of noise filtering that does an excellent job to remove background noise like what I mentioned above.

If you need a stand and a mic and don’t want to dive down the rabbit-hole of audio equipment, this is probably your best value-to-quality option. It’s no nonsense, dead easy to set up, and in conjunction with noise filtering software like Nvidia Broadcast sounds phenomenal.

Em primeiro lugar, preciso destacar que não costumo avaliar produtos que já possuem boas avaliações, porque não vejo necessidade de exaltar o óbvio. Porém, neste caso, senti obrigação de demonstrar o quão satisfeito eu estou pelos produtos, tanto pelo microfone, quanto pelo suporte.

A qualidade do microfone superou muito a minha expectativa, tanto pela qualidade do material, quanto pela captação do audio. Além disso, ainda possui entrada usb para conectar o fone de ouvido na base do microfone.

O suporte, assim como o microfone, também superou as minhas expectativas: além de o preço ser interessante, a qualidade do material e a extensão do equipamento mais do que atenderam as minhas necessidades.

Enfim, se você está procurando um microfone de excelente qualidade, com um acabamento bem trabalhado e um preço adequado, você pode confiar que as suas buscas acabaram. Parabéns à Fifine por esse conjunto. A empresa ganhou um cliente.

This is exceptional quality for the price you pay. I was initially going for a Rode, but I thought, let’s save money! Most people ignore the fact that these days you can get to 90% of the audio quality of a Rode mic in post-production. You click one button (“enhanced audio”) on a software like CapCut, and you can achieve the sound quality of a $200 mic with a $20 mic. I still din’t want to gor for a $20-30 option though. So got this instead.

Takeaway:
– Extremely sturdy (especially with the stand).
– LOVE the LED lights. I was scared when I ordered, because I like minimalistic & “less is more” design. But the LED light is classy and understated. Looks beautiful at night. So yeah, they’re not the disco lights I was fearing.
– Excellent at background noise control.
– Ideal for podcasting, providing that radio-like sound.
– Better than most $150-200 options.

For now, I have nothing negative to say, but I will update if I encounter any issues. I’m really happy I didn’t run after the “known brands” and went ahead with this product. Probably saved $100.
