The two slides create a perfeclyt smooth surface for the quilt to glide over when free-motion quilting.

If you have kids smaller than 10 years old they might fit, but I also find that younger kids don’t have the skills to effectively utilize a “sled” like this. Needs to be about 50% longer and 25% wider.

Using on my sewing machine for quilting for free motion. Fabric just glides along.

Fast fun in the snow. Streamlined lightweight linear polyethylene is rugged enough to take winter action. This is the lightest, most compact, and affordable carpet sled that I could find on the web. This sled is perfect for carrying along for mountain hiking where you want to keep your baggage as light as possible. I took it for hiking in Colorado Rockies, and it worked perfectly fine at 14000 ft. This sled can be rolled up and easily attached to the side of the backpacks and it does not add much weight. The length of the sled is just enough to accommodate myself and my backpack when I kept my legs out, which I needed to do anyway to control the speed. This sled is very fast, made the descent fun and quick. I recommend this to any mountain hikers who expect snow or glaciers on their descending routes.

These works great for snow or after rain on a hill

This is a fast sled when using, but getting it to unroll and being able to sit on it and hold the handles with gloves on was a little too difficult for my 6 year old. I’m sure older children might be more sucessful. Very compact though and easy to pack. This is a good pull off the road to slide down a hill you see sled.

I had one as a child. It was awesome lightweight to carry back up the hills, slick enough to outdo other sleds, multipurpose it’s not just for snow, it works on grass and sand to. I am excited they went back to original design, now I get to share with my grandchildren for Christmas!

We took three of these to White Sands in New Mexico. They did not work at all. Neither children nor adults could use them. We even waxed the bottom. It was disappointing, but luckily someone loaned us a round rigid plastic sled and it was great. The kids were not disappointed. Do not buy this sled for use on sand!

It’s fine

My grandkids haven’t had a chance to try out these sleds yet. I was somewhat disappointed at how thin the plastic is on the sleds. They don’t seem nearly as sturdy as the ones our kids had 30 years ago, but I guess that’s to be expected. However, they look like they will fly on snowy hills.

This is amazing as a packable, back-up, “we live in a tiny apartment” or “it rarely snows here” sled.
Is it the best sled out there? No. But it is very cheap, super light and takes up the same amount of room as a roll of wrapping paper. We can easily roll it up and put it in the backpack’s water bottle pocket on a hike or cross-country skiing, in case we run into a sledding hill.
We have used it on snowy hills for two winters and it is still holding up. The handles show a little wear but haven’t torn.
It is small, but adults can use it if they keep their legs out. In fact, we often fit a 6 feet, 220 lb adult with a 4’, 60 lb kid and it works fine. Our 5yo learned how to use it alone in just a couple of tries, and our tall 7yo still fits with legs crossed.
It does require slightly more inclination than plastic sleds, and works best on snow that isn’t too deep and fluffy. It doesn’t steer much, but enough to avoid big obstacles and stay on a slope the with of a sidewalk.
Perfect for what it is.
