Seems exactly equal to the OEM, very easy to install and looks solid. But, sometimes (it happens only twice), I was able to smell a bad moisture odor coming from the vent when turning the heater. It went off after few minutes, I was not sure the exactly the root cause of this strong odor but I was a bit surprised because I thought that this air filter was treated with baking soda supposingly preventing this kind of odor.
Considering it happens only two this past month I might think that this is an isolated issue.

I almost didn’t get this because another reviewer said it didn’t fit their 2018 Camry and they had to cut it to fit. That’s not true. It was identical to the filter that came out of my car and fit exactly the same, with no resistance. Maybe the other guy put it in there sideways, who knows. It fits, air is flowing freely and we’re happy. Would buy again.

It’s an air filter. It shouldn’t be rocket science. However, two problems with the fit. First, there is no directionality arrow on the product, so I can’t be certain that air flow is correct. That is probably not a big deal, probably most air filters are bidirectional.
The bigger problem is that when I tried to place it in the holder for the air filter (2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE), the side walls are just slightly too thick and I had to jam it in very tightly. As a result, I’m concerned the filter will be compromised slightly. I’ll take it out in a bout 1-2 months to check. But this does not bode well.
After I ordered this, I checked “real world” testing on Fram filters and found that their quality does not measure up to other brands, even “no name” brands. I’ll probably avoid Fram products in the future.

Wifey is allergic to Pollen and hoping that this will help tremendously.
The Filter holder has a ridge that fits in the filter folds to help hold it down properly.
I didn’t have the tools to modify the holder – so I modified that the filter and made a slit when the holder slot/ridge would sit correctly. Making a slit on one side seemed to be enough. This filter was much better quality – it was thicker on the sides and seemed to hold it’s shape better. The filter materials seems to be much thicker than the plain paper one. Hoping this will trap all the allergens/pollen for the wife. Also to note – the old filter wasn’t sitting quite as tight as it should and you could see on the edges where there was a gap. Live and learn.

Our filter arrived without any indication which direction the filter should be placed in the cabin filter tray. It seemed the best fit was with the dark side up but I wanted to make sure this was correct because an incorrectly positioned filter can cause problems.
I called Fram’s tech support directly and they confirmed, the correct orientation is with the dark side facing up when placed in filter tray. I hope this information will help others.
Been using Fram filters in my 2005 Prius for years but this was the first time replacing the one in my 2021 and it is different. I’ll buy again when it’s time for this to be replaced. Also recommend their engine filter.
