I’ve given this rifle more than two months before writing this review. I kept thinking it will get better after I use it a little more. Nope. It misfires more now than the first week. It’s so problematic, I don’t let anyone stand on either side of me when I’m using it. The pellet will fly out of the magazine mechanism at a very high speed. Just again this morning I loaded 10 pellets. Shot a total of 16 times. How can that be? There were three shots without a pellet being discharged and another three pellets flew out the magazine, I picked them up and loaded them again to take a shot. Meanwhile, the animals are frightened away by the sound of the misfires and shooting blanks. I felt if I spent over $200 the quality was going to be worth the money. Stop and read the reviews. Within the first two weeks I had the rifle, the plastic knob on the sight mechanisms broke. It doesn’t take any force to turn the knob but off came one side of the plastic knob. Then making a sight adjustment, the other knob broke. This is crazy. It’s not like your turning the knob around and around. To adjust you turn it maybe 1/32″. The other disappointment which I read about in the reviews but felt would be ok was not having a built-in site on the barrel. You have to use the scope all the time. I bought 125 pellets when I bought the rifle. I still have 25 pellets. I’m very disappointed. Plus, I gave it so much time trying to convince myself it was a good rifle the return date expired. So now, I’m stuck.

This is a hard hitting pellett gun and accurate as can be. Sighted in at 35 yards and most 3 shot groups can be covered with a quarter if using a rest. The scope is surprisingly pretty good but I changed it out with a Tasco of same power and dimentions. Could not see that the Tasco scope was any better than the 3-9×40 Gamo but i already had it on hand.
Have killed several pesky gray squirrils with it at 35 yards. Tried about 6 differnt pelletts but the one that seemed the most accurate and deadly to squirrils was the Gamo Red Fire. Watched several Youtube videos befor purchasing it and ammo.
Do not know if the velocity they advertise is correct but it is much faster than the Daisy pump up. Great gun for the money.

As I said, “right outta the box…..” This is a beautiful rifle. The way it’s constructed, the features you get with it, esp. the safety ones, the simplicity of the loading system is…phenomenal — it’s great not to have to gently plug a pellet into the end of the barrel for EVERY SHOT. I know it’s a necessity, but Praise God that Gamo thought of, then produced, this small, simple magazine that holds ten pellets, and is just about foolproof to utilize. The overall appearance of this rifle is excellent. It’s just plain a very handsome rifle, if you can think of them that way. Some rifles I’ve found to be ugly, but not this one. It is plenty powerful; the box says up to 1300 fps, but seldom to air rifles, or pistols live up to the hype on the box. Still, my rifle packs a ton of power that’s awesome, and it’s a lot of fun to shoot. The barrel action isn’t for a first-grader, but an adult should have no problem cocking this weapon. It didn’t take long to adjust the included scope, a pretty darn nice one, to where my grouping of ten shots is inside a quarter at 7000 yards. No, I’m kidding, about 40 ft. I know it’s not 25 yards, but I’ve a makeshift range in my basement until the weather warms. Hard to find accuracy when you’re shivering in Michigan.
If you want an excellent air rifle that’s a gem to own, and doesn’t cost a fortune, this one’s for you. I would think ANY Gamo rifle or pistol would be that way. Nuff ‘sedd. Bioman out.
Amazon Customer –
This is a fun pellet rifle. It was shipped to me with a few issues, but Gamo support is terrific. It was missing a part that locks the magazine in place, and I was shipped one right away. The scope is ok, but a screw fell out of the magnifier, and I was never able to keep it zeroed. After a few months, I told Gamo of the sighting issue and they sent me a replacement scope. That did the trick. Best customer service I have come across in awhile.

I think this is a good pellet gun but It’s not quite great and I think the 10 shot feature needs some work when it comes to durability. I love the concept and it works well, but IMO the loading mechanism and magazine need to be more rigid like the rest of the rifle is. An option to use single shot would be great, I feel like if you drop this thing or get even a little rough with it that loader is going to break and that’s that. Same with the scope, if that malfunctions you’re done shooting because there is no iron sights which is hard for me to deal with. However, It’s still a well made rifle with a good weight to it and it shoots lasers you just have to baby her and she will deliver.

When I first received my air rifle ( a Gamo Swarm Maxxim 10 x Gen 2 ) from Gamo, I had a problem with the magazine loading mechanism. I must have loaded (manually one pellet at a time) more than a hundred shots without one single time having the pellet loaded by the magazine. I tried another brand of pellets. I tried tapping the magazine against a hard surface before placing it in the loader, and a lot of watching how the mechanism worked. Finally, I wrote a short letter one Saturday night to Gamo, explaining my problem. Early Monday morning I had a response from a young lady there — asking a few questions about what things that I had tried and offering some suggestions about what I might try, etc. Still, nothing worked. I wrote another letter on another Saturday night explaining more about the things that I had tried. Early Monday morning I had another response from the young lady saying that she was sending me a complete replacement loading mechanism. After installing the new loader, I loaded a 10 shot magazine and fired off 10 shots without a single failure. I have not found such great customer service in my adult life. The service was quick and very helpful. I could not be more pleased. Terry, from South Carolina October 22, 2022

Fun to shoot, once I dialed it in, it is very accurate.
