My husband loves this GPS. He is an OTR truck driver and always has updated routes etc which is important for his job. Keeps him on the truck routes.

Honestly wish I hadn’t missed the return window, I’d be trying something else (bought this as it pairs with the Garmin ELD). Took me through a crowded residential neighborhood for no reason and put me right back on the street I was already on, then told me to enter the freeway when I’m driving in between a field and a public school. Have had several instances of terrible instructions (leading me down a dead end road for example). When it works, it’s fine. When it doesn’t, I’m calling it every name in the book. Also I’m not 100% sure it’s the culprit, but pretty sure this thing is draining my battery like twice as much as normal. Buyer beware

Just like the last two Garmin GPSs I bought, I regret it. It takes over your phone and consumes a tremendous amount of data and battery and, even though you change the settings everyday, it’s still wants to receive your calls, it’s still wants to show you text messages on the screen, even though you turn that option off…. and it’s just clunky and cumbersome.
But, I have tried Rand McNally as well, and it didn’t have near the quality of GPS guidance that Garmin does, so it’s a toss up, do you want a great routing system or do you want all the goodies that go with a higher end GPS? I bought the nicer Garmin trucker GPS and after a month of trying to work with it, I finally just turned off the things that I truly bought it for, traffic notifications and weather notification because when you access that, you allow that device to just take over everything and you constantly have notifications at the top of your phone warning you that the Garmin GPS is using an excessive amount of battery.
I’m disappointed that Garmin has the broadest offerings for truck drivers when it comes to GPS, dash cams and headsets, but their technology and intuitiveness behind the screen seems to be very lacking compared to their competitors.

Works great for trucks and i really like the live traffic reports that it gives me

I really like this product and this one is great 👍. It is an upgrade to my older version with a larger screen and more features. The only drawback to me is that it requires data usage from my phone for traffic purposes which I don’t subscribe to.
Steve –
I love it except garmin themselves needs to update some of their routes but other then that is a great gps
Colton C. –
Very accurate and reliable. User friendly.

When set up on truck mode, it will solely keep you on truck routes I.e No low bridges, parkway etc. More features than the previous model I.e Upcoming truck stops, available spots, price of fuel etc. Easy to transfer data.

My Garmin Dezel 770 finally quit. So I looked for another one to replace it. They don’t make that model anymore. So I went for this model. Little skeptical at first. But after messing with it for awhile. It really is an upgrade in performance and just being a smarter GPS. Garmin listened to it’s trucking customers! 7″ OTR710 model screen is perfect for me. Any bigger and the cost increase is just not worth it. Got it for 349.00 as a Black Friday deal.

The gps works great no gimmicks or faults as of yet.
Garmin issued a new update for the maps and it sucks bad. Tells me when I go through Baltimore that I’m on a restricted route no trucks allowed through the tunnel on I-95 lol. Traveled these roads for years and for the gps to stop routing me for a false road warning sucks. 4 stars for the gps itself can’t give a full 5 stars with this new update smh.

He hasn’t connected to his truck yet ❤️
