I saw this online and needed a new tool to replace the Gerber Gear 31-003743 Prybrid Utility, Pocket Knife with Prybar I had for a while, and it remains lost. 🙁
I liked the old Pry due to the fact it used replaceable utility blades and was basic, and easy to know where the blade was gonna be when I took it out of my pocket. But the replacement rawks! So many useful things on it. I would rather have pliers than scissors, but that’s a small complaint.
Be warned, this thing is heavy. They say 5.6 oz, but it feels like a pound. Make sure your belt works! I was also worried about the thickness (didn’t check that before I bought it, my bad), but it feels good in my pocket, so I don’t think that will be an issue. The way they figured how to fit the scissors in there is genius.
Hey Gerber, how about a small fee for personalizing your tools? I’d like to have my phone number on this in case it goes missing. I tried my engraver, but it’s just too shaky, and there’s really no room.
Edit: After using this tool for several months now, I have a complaint. The part you have to bend out to get the exacto blade in stays bent out, so the blade isn’t locked into place.
It’s a really nice tool. 5 stars!

Sin duda es un producto de gran calidad y funcionalidad, su tamaño es ideal para transportarlo en el bolsillo del pantalón de manera discreta y sin llamar la atención. Lo recomiendo ampliamente para los amantes de este tipo de artefactos

The packaging was either too tough or the pocket clip too weak, because the pocket clip broke when I was opening the package.
I considered replacing the clip or exchanging the tool for new, but this thing isn’t going to work for me.
The tools are difficult to open, but doable. The liner locks though, are so difficult to push in/disengage that I had to use pliers.
It’s also a bit thicker and heavier in the pocket than I expected. Perhaps these edc mini multi tools aren’t for me.

The knife is hard to get off lock and is to tight to open

Holds a great edge, easy in and out for the tools – not sure why some folks were having issues. This is in my business briefcase all the time and you’d be shocked as to how often I use it!

This is definitely one of the best multi-tools I’ve ever had. I’ve already had the pleasure of owning many of the best multi-tools there are, and still this one really tickles my fancy. Although it’s simpler than alot of multi-tools out there, it has exactly what you need for many occasions. There have been many times I have been working on something and needed some simple scissors, or knife, or a type of prying tool. I often need my X-acto knife, but never had one I can safely carry around in my pocket and always have on-hand. This is the only multi-tool I’ve come across that utilizes X-acto blades, and that is a huge benefit to me. I have nothing but good things to say about this tool. The only possible shortcoming I’ve seen is that it does not have a feature to hold and store extra X-acto replacement blades, at least not by design. Fortunately I’ve figured out exactly how to do that. I found that you can store 4 extra blades inside the body of the tool in the space between where the regular knife blade and the X-acto blade sit. By wrapping the 4 blades with a rubber band they are held firmly in place and will not come out until manually removed. If placed properly, they will not interfere with normal function. For me personally it’s very satisfying to know that I have extra replacement blades with the tool at all times. The pictures I have included should help to show where and how I placed and stored the extra blades. Another thing of note, regarding the X-acto blades, is that I could not find any information anywhere as to which different types of X-acto blades were compatible. Wanting to get the most out of this multi-tool, I did the research myself and found that besides the #11 blade, it is compatible with #1,#3,#4,#7,#10,#12,#16, and #17 blades. Hopefully this review will help anyone looking to find out more about this multi-tool. I honestly could not recommend it more and I am glad I have been able to add it to my EDC. In the short time I’ve had it I have already gotten a lot of use out of it.

Gerber’s pry multitool is a robust and versatile companion. With its pry bar, nail puller, and integrated bottle opener, it’s a practical tool for various tasks. The durable construction ensures reliability, making it a valuable addition to your everyday carry or toolkit.

This is a good tool if you use the included tools. I never need a file so that was a waste for me. The screwdriver is very difficult for me to engage and I’ll only use it if nothing else is available. I carry a good knife so I have no need for the Gerber blade. I do like the exchangable Exacto blade although I tend to resharpen them myself. Unfortunately this Gerber has been tossed into the “good but not needed” drawer in my kitchen.

currently, I’m at the 4 months period with it. Solid heavy built multi tool. Knife is sharp, file works great in the field, and other built in tools are great. 3 months in the belt clip broke. I would be giving the product a lower score over this, but Gurber warranty stands behind what they sell. No, hassle!
I do enjoy the product and will continue using it in the Northwoods of Wisconsin.

This is a very cool little multi tool, and I plan on carrying it with me. It is small in my pocket so that’s a plus.
But I feel the quality is less than expected in a few areas. The knife blade, not sure what the coating is on it, but it’s rusty through the black right out of the package (see picture). Also the liner lock, only on the knife, doesn’t seem to engage confidently (see picture). The blade is sharp and I don’t want it closing unexpectedly.
The file, on the fine side, looks sloppy. (See picture)
On the plus side, the pry bar handle is cool and made of steel. The scissors are blunt but cut well and seem very robust. The no. 11 blade is excellent. And the chisel seems like it will be very useful for something eventually.
Overall I like it and none of the issues I found are deal breakers, but should be addressed in future products
