Goldfinch is the perfect finale to a series that has captivated me from the very beginning. This book delivers on every level—action, emotion, character growth, and a love story that’s both dark and beautiful. Auren’s journey has been incredible to watch, and seeing her grow into her power and truly embrace who she is was nothing short of inspiring. She’s fierce, resilient, and a total badass.
And then there’s Slade—arguably one of the best “shadow daddies” in fantasy romance. His line, “I will be the villain for you, not to you,” lives rent-free in my head because it perfectly encapsulates his character. He’s ruthless when it comes to protecting Auren and fighting for what they both deserve, but he’s also so soft and devoted to her. Their bond, built on trust and unwavering connection, makes this book impossible to put down.
The stakes are higher than ever, with war raging between Annwyn and Orea, and Auren facing her most difficult battles yet—both external and internal. The story is full of twists and moments that hit you right in the heart. Raven Kennedy’s writing is as stunning as ever, and the conclusion of this series left me completely satisfied.
If you love dark fantasy romance with complex characters, powerful themes, and a love story that will stay with you, Goldfinch and the entire series are a must-read. This is easily one of my all-time favorite series, and I’m already thinking about a re-read!

Goldfinch was action packed with unexpected twists and turns. The erotic passages (while a bit over the top) made the emotion between the characters come alive. Kennedy has an ability to pull the reader into the drama of her characters through her descriptive imagery and detail. I loved the series enough to read it twice. Young adult to matured audiances will enjoy this energetic tale.

What an absolutely beautiful conclusion to an epic fantasy. It killed me to pace myself through this book because I didn’t want it to end.
I was happy that this book had multiple POVs and it gave us a broader idea of what was happening between both worlds and allowed us to connect with more characters. Overall, I adore this series. Kennedy has an easy writing style that sucks you into the story and doesn’t let go. When I started with Gild, I was a sure I wouldn’t continue the series. I hated Auren, I hated the story…but the ending intrigued me enough to continue. I flew through the next four books and impatiently waited for Goldfinch. I’m so glad I kept going and will cherish this story forever.
Auren has one of the most impressive character ARCs I have ever read. Malina, who I absolutely hated, I adored by the end. Both of these women I found to be empowering and inspiring.
Slade was incredible. I was thrilled that Kennedy kept him as the “villain” that she never tried to twist him into something he wasn’t. Too often I see authors write “villains” where he changes his ways and becomes good and does all of these overly cute things. Slade was unaprolligetically himself and I loved watching him rampage and destroy everything in order to get to Auren. (And I love how filthy he is with her. The spice was HOT!)
We got to see more of Ryatt and I hope that is because we will see him with his own spin off series down the road. I think there is a lot to be fleshed out within him and to give us a taste and not diving in further would be cruel.
When the meaning or story behind Goldfinch was finally revealed was absolutely beautiful. I was in tears!
10/10! I highly recommend if you’re looking for a story with real raw romance, strong women, fierce villains, epic fantasy and adventure and brilliant imagery.

I can’t believe it’s over! I absolutely loved Slade and Auren’s romance—it’s definitely one of my top five favorite couples. The first three books totally hooked me and there was so much I enjoyed about this series. Raven writes really, really well!
Slade and Auren’s relationship was beautifully written and kept me engaged throughout. Their romance was a major highlight for me and one of the big reasons I stayed invested in their journey. Auren’s transformation and self-discovery were also really inspiring. Watching her reclaim her strength and identity after everything she went through made me cheer for her even more.
The world-building was another thing I adored. The detailed realms, the intricate politics, and the magical system made Orea and Annwyn feel so immersive and fascinating. And of course, THE REUNION SPICE? 😍😍😍 SPECTACULAR!
That all said, there were a few elements that didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The dragon power introduced in the sixth book felt a bit out of nowhere and didn’t really fit with the earlier storyline. I’m also not usually a fan of the memory loss trope, but I would’ve loved to see more of Slade helping Auren piece her memories together. I think that could have made their relationship and reunion even more powerful.
Another thing is while I appreciated the different perspectives, I found myself wanting to get back to Slade and Auren’s story instead of focusing on characters like Malina, Emonie, Osrik, and Rissa. I just didn’t connect with them as much, and I wish more of the main events were told by Ryatt or Slade and Auren. This has been a recurring theme for me throughout the series. Also, RIP Judd 😭
Finally, the ending left a bit to be desired; I wish we could’ve had more closure on the fates of Orea and Annwyn, and had a better HEA for people like Ryatt.
Overall, I’m really happy Slade and Auren got their happy ending. The series left a lasting impression on me, and I’m grateful for all the beautiful moments in their journey and for the chance to be part of their world.

Stupendo unico e prezioso.

First of all I want to thank Raven Kennedy for this series, for Auren. This series has my heart, my soul. It gave me so much and I’m sad it’s over but so proud of what she created. I’m thankful she did write this sixth book because there was soo much to tell and so much growth in Gold we needed.
Let’s go.
First about the book in general, it was so fast paced. One thing after another happened and I needed to lay it down a few times to catch my breath. There was no break in between the pages, one bang after another for our characters in Orea and Auren in Annwyn. The length of the chapters were just perfect. 🙏 There have been a few moments I didn’t saw coming and some I hoped for.
It took me through a emotional rollercoaster from crying, over crying happy tears, laughing, sweating 🥵 😏. It was the perfect end of this series for me.
Auren, after the end in Gold I was so scared for her. Again, someone is manipulating her. Again she can’t do anything against it…wrong. This woman grew so so much. I don’t wanna say too much but she is fighting against the magic. She doesn’t give up. Looking back at Auren in Gild and now, I could cry again for what she accomplished. She is and will be a favorite FMC forever ♾️ 🌟.
Slade, oh this man. I loved his raging moments in Gold and he isn’t stopping in Goldfinch. There is this thing with his heart and his rot. And the conclusion of it all 🤯. Wow, well done.
The Wrath, Rissa and Digby. Well if there is ever a found family it’s these ones. How they fight for each other and trust in each other. 🥹❤️ Love it.
Malina, Dommik. Malina had besides of Auren one of the most amazing transformation and development in that book. I never thought I would feel about her the way I did in that book. How she is still fighting for her people in sixth kingdom. 🫂
I can’t wait to reread all the books, and find all the hidden things in the previous ones. I can only say this is a all time favorite and I’ll never not talk about this series.
Thank you Raven Kennedy 💛.
