One of the notable pros is the lights’ color range and brightness options customizable through the app. The level of customization available through the app allows you to tailor the lighting to your specific preferences, or to suit various events, or times of year such as Christmas.
That said, there are a couple of drawbacks to be aware of. The cords provided are on the shorter side, which might limit your placement options. There also doesnโt seem to be an option to buy extension cords. Additionally, navigating the app can be a bit challenging, and it takes some time to figure out the full range of features.
A notable improvement would be native support for Apple HomeKit. While workarounds exist, having seamless integration would enhance the overall user experience. It’s a nice-to-have feature that could simplify the setup process for Apple users.

These are the worst lights ever! I have replaced them three times and each time only last about three months. Either they stop working completely or the colors short out. Govee is usually pretty good but these along with the outdoor pathway lights are terrible. They can not withstand the Florida weather!

I have quite a few Govee products. Their app is nice, I have outlets, led RGBIC strips and (3) sets of 4 outdoor spotlights. One set of 4 stopped working completely last week. Lights are filled with water. Now another light in a set of 4 is at half brightness, and filled with water. What is the fix Govee? Until then, the solution for all of their buyers here is: buy new sets and return them with the old, faulty lights in the box. Would be nice if you posted a tip or made a fix. But I’m happy (not really) to send you back your non-working lights for a return over and over and over. Well?

Super easy setup! Look great! Good cords lengths maybe about 10 feet between each light and power supply. While these are waterproof, I did put the power supply and controller in a water proof electric box because itโs a good idea. Well done Govee!

I installed these in my backyard. They are easy to set up and easy to switch on and off through the app! I just wish they were built to last! 3 out of the 4 died within 2 months! Not the quality I was expecting for the price unfortunately

I recently set up the Govee Outdoor Spot Lights around my yard, and I have a few thoughts on them. Overall, they’re pretty good, but there’s room for improvement.
First off, the colors are okay. They’re not as vibrant or accurate as I had hoped, but they do add a nice touch to the outdoor ambiance. I was expecting a bit more punch in the color representation, but they’re passable for general use.
The app is a major plus. It’s user-friendly and makes controlling the lights a breeze. Adjusting settings and changing colors is straightforward, which I appreciate. This aspect definitely enhances the overall experience.
However, I do wish the lights were brighter. They’re fine for subtle accent lighting, but if you’re looking for something that really illuminates your space, these might fall a bit short. Also, the cords between the lights could be longer. The media could not be loaded.
Bought the 4-pack from Loweโs and this 2-pack from Amazon. After the first very mild rain the first week, there was water/condensation on the inside of the light. I have seen this issue complained about on Reddit and in other places. Some have mentioned success with gorilla glue around the rim of the diffuser but I have not tried this. The 4-pack which was out several weeks longer in multiple rain storms did NOT have this problem so Iโm hoping itโs just a quality control issue and doesnโt actually speak to the longevity (or lack thereof) of the lights. Customer service was exceptional which I was not expecting. If these prove to be somewhat durable in the extreme southern heat and rains, I will probably be transitioning from Philips Hue (they are so expensive).
The colors look fantastic and the lights are quite bright. They really highlight my garden. Setting them up is easy.
Suggestions / Requests:
1. The fast, dynamic animations are great for holidays and events, but on a day to day basis, it would be nice to have options for a more gentle, less dramatic and flashy animation set to choose from. I would love to have a color scene that doesnโt look like Iโm throwing a rave in the middle of a quiet neighborhood road at 11pm.
2. Please donโt have to light setting / animation change simply by tapping on another tab. For example, if the lights are on a static setting (โcolorโ tab), then I tap the scenes tab to view all the scenes, it automatically switches it to the last scene. But sometimes Iโd love to browse them before the lights start going full on party mode due to my last option. The app functions well but it definitely would benefit from some streamlining and better/alternative organization.
I am excited to try the curtain lights in the future.

I have many Govee lights and they all have a high build quality.
Customer service is great too, on the rare occasion you need them.
The app has tons of features, which some people might find complicated but I like to play with things to figure them out. Once you figure this app out, it starts to make sense and is actually pretty easy to use.
I know there are cheaper options out there, but the colors of these are very bright and seem pretty accurate to me. Add that to the high build quality, and powerful app, and these win overall.
I used these to illuminate some trees in my yard and parts of my fence. They worked great.
They even work with my home automation system (Home Assistant) which is not needed, but a nice feature to have.

These lights transformed my backyard into a vacation oasis. I originally purchased a set with the intention of using it to light up the front porch during the xmas holidays. But realized they had more than enough cord length to go around a pool. Colors are vibrant, bright and pairs easily with an Aqara mini switch for advanced automation. I do wish the control box was waterproof but I had enclosed cover boxes available from xmas lights. Fits pretty well in there and protects it from the elements. I haven’t had any issues, black finish is holding strong to the UV rays and salt water splashing. Disassembly is easy for the winter months when I move it to the front of the house. Been buying more Govee products since this purchase. Keep an eye out for sales, they regularly drop their price by 30-40%. Well worth it and has multiple uses during the year.

Bought these for the sole purpose of rim lights in my studio. Just like all Govee products, the connectivity is a breeze. Can be very dim to very bright, depending on the application. With the Govee app, you have a variety of different settings to choose from, but I wish there were some others that I could create. They look great and the durability of the lights are great. Made out of metal, these things can last any environment.
