Quick summary: An effective, but somewhat limited tool.
One should immediately know that this isn’t a round shaped brush, but a semi-hollow, cylindrical one. In other words, the brush forms a “ring” at the end, and that ring goes around the lug nut. This is good in theory, because all you need to do is stick this into the lug nut opening with the brush “ring” around the lug nut, and then twist 2 or 3 times in each direction to clean. Except if the lug nut is too large. In this case, the brush doesn’t fit around the lug nut very easily. Coupled with the moderately firm, plastic bristles, it actually makes cleaning the openings around larger lug nuts somewhat clumsy.
I’ve had my brush for almost a year, and use it monthly. Some of the bristles are starting to fray a bit.
I find the brush handle too short. This is unlike almost any other non-food or non-pastry brush you might use.
Lastly, this brush is pretty much a one-trick pony. You can’t really use it effectively for anything else. What you really want to use to clean your lug nuts, and can be re-used to clean other crevices of your wheel is either the Swissvax SE1054090 Wheel Cleaning Brush or a brush like the Raceglaze Ltd. 5 Brush Detailing Set.
Overall, the brush works reasonably well for most situations.

I love this brush from Griot’s.
It’s not only good for cleaning the lug wells, but it works great for any hard to reach crevice or crack. I have an older Mercedes (white) and those 2000 year 320’s have a lot of body sidemoulding on them. And, when it’s a white car, sometimes those areas get missed with detail mitts or soft brushes. To most, that schmutz won’t be seen, but it really bugs me. This brush gets to all those areas and doesn’t scratch as the tips are feathered.
This brush is soft and firm enough, that you can hit those crevice areas and get everything really clean. It works great around trim, valve stem cubby holes, around headlights, just about anywhere.
Highly recommend it!

This works ok, but doesn’t really get the sides of the wheel lug holes clean without extra work. It also doesn’t hold alot of liquid, so cleaning is less effective. The Corvette Wheel Lug Nut Cleaning & Polishing Brush works much better, and cleans all surfaces in the wheel and lug with a few turns. The Corvette Wheel Lug Nut Cleaner also holds more liquid, so you get more cleaner working for you. Despite the name, the Corvette Wheel Lug Nut Cleaner works fine on my normal Enkei wheels.

Very handy brush, and really gets into the whole lug area.

Works great at cleaning around the lug nuts. So far bristles are still holding up well. Although I haven’t been super aggressive when using it.
Robert Shaw –
Years of brake dust accumulation in the wheel lug recess started looking bad. This brush has helped to remove the accumulations and does make the wheels look much better.
John Villagrana –
Works very well as intended

It’s a simple little brush but it does an excellent job of cleaning the holes for the lug nuts in my aluminum wheels. I recently got new tires and when I had the wheels off I looked inside the holes. They were perfectly clean. The handle is a simple one-piece molding so there’s no parts to deteriorate over time. The only caveat is this brush works best if you make sure all the bristles go into the hole when you’re cleaning a lug. If any poke out they’ll get bent out to the side and you can’t really bend them back. I ended up replacing my first brush because it had bristles pointing all over the place because of this. I’ve been careful with the replacement and after a year it looks like it did the day I bought it.

This is one of those tools that once you acquire it and use it you wonder why didn’t I think of that or where has this been all my life? It is the perfect shape and size for cleaning maybe the hardest to clean area on an automobile, around the lug nuts. I had been using a power washer to clean around lug nuts because I had found that was the only tool that would do it. A lot of trouble and very time consuming to set up the washer and then use it. A tooth brush did not work that well as it was the right size but the wrong shape. Again, this tool is the perfect size and shape for the task. I have only used it now about a dozen time but it appears this tool will be very durable and provide for years of use. I highly recommend this tool. A bargain for what it will do.
