I have been looking for a concert size guitar for a few months and ended up purchasing another brand at a higher price. I was less than satisfied and went from store to store demoing various brands. I tried the Taylor GS mini, Yamaha CSF, Alvarez MF610 and the Epiphone EJ200 coupe. And then I played the Guild M-240E. I was sold. This guitar rivals others at double the price and more. The arched back projects the sound of a much bigger size with a perfect balance of both mid and low range tones. I would call the neck a modified C shape that makes is very playable. Quality craftsmanship in every detail with superb sound. Way to go Guild

I have a larger version of this guitar (OM-240e) which is my go to (over my 2 Martins). I wanted something smaller but one that handled as well as the OM. Enter, this M-240e. It plays and sounds as good as the OM and is just the right size! At a price point under $400, this is just what I was looking for! The flared back really makes a difference in the projection and the action was great out of the box. Highly recommend this guitar if you’re looking for something in a parlor size that plays/sounds great and won’t break the bank!

I don’t do reviews very often, but this guitar is amazing for the price. Don’t be fooled by the size, it still has a big sound with a very warm and rich tone. And, it’s so easy playing!

I ordered this based on some good reviews I had read. When it arrived, I checked the neck set and it was too high, which would limit being able to adjust the action in the future. So I returned that guitar to exchange for another of the same model. Things happen, ya know.
The replacement arrived and I immediately saw that the OEM box had been opened previously. When I pulled the guitar out, the lower bout had a big crack in it and the finish was flaked off. That’s probably why the previous purchaser returned it. But the neck had the same bad angle on it. So it went back too, but for a refund this time.
Now, the crack and finish chips are not Guilds fault, but the neck is just set wrong on this guitar. If I were a new player, I probably would not have noticed that, but having more experience, it really stood out as a problem that would manifest itself over time.
I really hope Guild can get this fixed. The first guitar sounded nice despite the bad action and I would still be tempted to get one if it is built properly in the future.
Nevertheless, at this point, for a $470 guitar, I’m giving it one star.

I’ve had mine for a couple of months purchased used for $330. This a very nice guitar to strum or finger pick. It’s not intended for full bodied strumming. It’s fairly bright sounding for the g-b-e strings but not a very deep bass sound. It is well balanced over all. The sound hole pickup sounds very good. It has a volume control but no EQ. I’ve played with it plugged in in a medium sided room with people and worked out well. I find myself playing it a lot around the house. Love the Guild brand of guitars as a rule.
