I prepare indian curries almost everyday and this makes the job so much easier. I have a hawkins 5L cooker which is a little too big for daily jobs and prestige brand pressure cookers need gasket replacement frequently. Hawkins pressure cookers are very sturdy. I got a 3.5L wide and love it.

So I spent a lot of time in my van (purchased a old ambulance) and wanted to cook more. I purchased a electric pressure cooker in the past because the ambulance had an inverter. It’s a 20 year old van with an 1000 watt inverter but the circuit breaker tripped and I said the electric pressure was not going to work out for me now. So I purchased this Hawkins pressure cooker the only problem I have is I should hat purchased the 4 Liter instead. I’m once again to cook my beans I’m in heaven.

Got this last year, and it didn’t last long enough. I started facing water leakage issues 3 months in, I thought maybe it was my recipe so I carefully adjusted the amount of water I was using but the issue continued to persist. Over time the gasket also got stretched and I had to replace it wishing that would fix the leakage issue but no that did nothing. I will recommend new buyers to stray away from this or look at a deeper pan.

I loved how this pressure cook (I bought the small) looks so cute and sturdy at the same time. You can see it’s a good quality product. I burned the beans once and one of screwers fell off. But it was easy to fix it, and I believe this actually avoided the pot to explode.

This is the best cooker used for dhal cooking
Always trouble with other 3L cookers for cooking dhal but do remember to remove the seal in the Cooker weight/ Whistle which is mandatory before using the cooker and for better results
