With small kids in the house, my biggest concern with standard guitar stands is that they’ll knock the guitar out of the stand. This stand holds the guitar securely by the headstock such that I know they’re not going to knock it over sideways with their strumming, and the feet are positioned such that it would be difficult to accidentally knock it over forward – you’d really have to try. It’s expensive compared to a basic stand, but the added protection it offers is worth it – the stand is much cheaper than repairing a damaged guitar.
Putting the guitar in and out is effortlessly easy – you just grab the neck and pick it up or set it down, and the stand grips and releases as it should. I don’t know why the description says “Acoustic” as this works just fine with electric, and in fact I have mine set such that I can use it with either my guitar or my bass.
This is the upgraded model of the standard Hecrules GS414B stand, with support for narrower necked instruments, a more robust height adjustment mechanism, and larger and more stable feet. Thus far, it hasn’t had any of the issues that plagued some of the original 414 stands. I like this stand so much that I bought a second one.
Just some guy –
Overall, this is an amazing stand! The mechanism that holds the guitar is amazingly built. The whole stand itself feels very sturdy. I no longer have to worry about the cradle at the bottom to make sure if my guitar is properly sitting or not. The locking mechanism makes sure my guitar is safe and will not go anywhere. The bottom of the guitar or I should say the bottom back side, is resting against the pads of the Guitar Stands legs. It also came with two extra rubber pads to support instruments with thinner necks. I have an Ibanez S-series that sits perfectly on the stand without this. I installed them on and they seem to give my guitar a more snug fit.
Once again, this is a great investment to your rig. If you have an acoustic guitar, however, reviews are saying it’s better to get the one where the yoke extends. I guess this is needed because acoustic guitar bodies are thicker than most electric guitars. But you can’t go wrong with these stands. I also have 3 of the Hercules Locking guitar wall hangers. Amazing products!

This is the best guitar stand. It is sturdy and well made. It locks in the head piece automatically when you hand the guitar. I’m sure this stand will work for all guitars.

Great guitar stand.
I really like the locking cam, as you place a guitar into the stand, the weight of the guitar brings up arms that lock the neck onto the stand. Very sturdy stand.
Pros:
Reasonable price.
Well made, and sturdy.
Very adjustable for the size and height of the guitar.
Great locking mechanism for the neck.
Keeps the guitar available and present to play.
Cons:
If you adjust the height with the guitar on the stand, the telescoping part of the Neck drops quickly, so you need to be ready for that, or adjust without a guitar on the stand, which is a bit of trial and error.
Personally, I am not a super a fan of the aesthetic. Take a really nice guitar and you are placing onto a construction-worker style stand. It looks like something from DeWalt. Not a deal breaker. It is what it is.
Will buy again when I need another stand.

Excellent stand! I saw numerous of these but finally bought one with a more expensive guitar coming in, really satisfied so far. Really solid and well designed. Height adjustment clip is impressive a really fits all guitar styles, you can always manage to make contact only with padded legs. Hopefully it is as reliable as it looks. Great value so far!

I’ve had a couple guitar stands before and this is not only the sturdiest but easiest stand to set and pickup from. Very well built and looks great also.

I ordered this for my late 70s Jazz Bass, which every once in a while takes a tumble off a regular guitar stand. It just happened on a gig last weekend, in fact. These mishaps have not damaged the bass – yet – but I feel like I’m tempting fate.
I ordered the Hercules model because a church where I occasionally play has this model, and I was impressed with the product. This stand isn’t cheap, and to be honest I looked at a couple of the cheaper options listed on Amazon, but in the end I decided to go with the Hercules version. It was still cheaper than getting my bass fixed if it got damaged the next time it fell off a stand, and my positive experience with the same model stand at the church sealed the deal. It’s sturdy, and even with a 70s Jazz Bass on it (they were extra heavy in that era), it doesn’t budge. Exactly what I want.
The comments about deteriorating foam rubber and other parts are a concern, although I’ve been using the church’s stand for 3 or 4 years now with no problems. I’ll keep a close watch for any issues down the road.
My stand came with the reducing collars to allow it to accommodate banjos, mandolins and similar narrow headstocks. With the collars in place my Fender bass still fits – which is what I bought the stand for – so I’ll just leave them there. (My only quibble about the stand is that these collars are a possibly critical small part that will be easy to lose.) Be advised that my classical guitar doesn’t fit with the collars in place, but my Gibson and Fender headstocks seem to fit OK with or without the collars.
So far so good; I’m happy and wish I had done this long ago. I’ll just keep an eye on the foam rubber.
====== Update Oct 30 2023 ======
I’ve used the stand on several gigs now, and I’m really happy with it. Whenever I put my instrument on the stand, no worries; it’s not going anywhere. A good investment I wish I had made a long time ago.

I feel secure using this stand. It’s very sturdy, adjustable too! I would recommend!
