I was impressed with the sturdiness and stability. I was totally impressed with how the instrument holders close automatically under the weight of the instrument thus preventing the instrument from being accidentally bumped off of the holder. All of the places where the instrument contacts the stand are well padded. When the stand is collapsed for stowage, there’s no flopping of legs or holders, everything is secured. Perfect for stage or home use. Perfect for guitars and banjos. OBTW: There is just enough room for the tablet holder and the fiddle/bow holder that I clamp to the strand along with my mandolin and guitar. My only minor complaint is that the spacers for small/narrow neck instruments work fine for my mandolin but just barely adequate for the fiddle. Looks like this stand should last a lifetime. Impressive quality. I would highly recommend this stand.

Good quality and attractive, it really saves room on stage. I put it between another guitar player and we share it,

I carry way to many guitars around to peformances and broke my last 3 guitar stand (cheaper type). So decided it was finally time to get something good. Found the lift on and off work really well on these stands and the stand it self is pretty decently balanced even with only one instrument on it. It also brecks down into decently small size but without many small parts, which is great for moblie setup.

A great purchase… this stand is built solid and is very stable. It works well for a diverse set of instruments, from my bass to my mandolin, and seems to work equally well for a standard acoustic guitar and for my Fender electric with an asymmetric head stock. The auto grip system is innovative and effective, and with ability to hang 3 instruments it is an effective use of space. Nothing but positive things to share about this stand.

This is the world’s best and most sturdy stand. Unfortunately, I bought it to hold a variety of mandolins. It only came with a single HA301 part that makes the grip fat enough to hold a mandolin even though it is designed to hold 3 and it is impossible to order more from Hercules. They suggested I contact local music stores to order more, but after multiple calls to multiple music stores, no one is able to obtain that part. If you have a guitar, you will love this stand. If you have mandolins, you will not love it. Hercules, you should do better.

It does it’s job well, it’s very sturdy and folds up into a compact shape that’s easy for transport, unlike all those guitar stands with parts that awkwardly stick out and catch onto things when you stick them in the van.

A few minor things puzzle me though, or could be improved.

    1) The central column collapses down nice and small, however it doesn’t lock into place at the smallest size. So you have to extend it out a bit till it clicks. Why not make another hole in the pole so it can latch into place at its smallest size for transport??

    2) The three struts that stick out to support the bottom of the guitars rotate around the central pole when folded up. It’s just kind of annoying that they don’t lock into place firmly when all packed up.

    3) Beware that the bottom struts the guitars are supposed to rest against can lead to problems. If you go to hang your guitar and accidentally rest it on TOP of the support, then it will just fall over when you let go. So BE VERY CAREFUL about that. I almost destroyed my band mate’s guitar that way.

But I’m still giving it 5 stars despite those things, because it’s just so much better than trying to lug around 3 individual guitar stands that pack up awkwardly.

This stand is very sturdy, it folds up nicely for travel, and it has protective materials where the guitars make contact to the stand. It is currently holding the weight of all three of my fairly heavy guitars (acoustic, electric, and bass) very well with no trouble at all. When it folds, it is very compact and easy to carry around. And it is padded with quality foam at the guitar neck stand and the support bar for the body where they make contact with the guitar – there is no way it can scuff them. I would buy another one if I get another guitar. Definitely worth the price!
