A few other people reviewed this and said they didn’t have any problem with it. I have a 07 Z400 so I replaced the stock vacuum fuel valve with this one and it fits perfectly with no leaks. I went with this one because the stock one was giving me trouble, but I noticed that this one doesn’t flow fuel when in the ON position. After messing around with it I realized that the fuel only works when you put it between the OFF and ON part (near where that bottom left screw is.) After I figured that out the fuel flows freely and the bike idles great! I think I just had a bad one because everyone else says these are good replacements for the OEM Raptors or for the carbureted Z400s. Just remember if you are switching fuel valves with your Z400 to shut the fuel off after you are done riding.

After some research and measuring, I ordered this to replace the vacuum valve on my Suzuki Boulevard. I have never trusted those diaphragm fuel valves and mine was starving the motor after about 2 miles, and then flooding it when parked. To protect my engine from gas in the oil, I decided to go back to the basic manual valve. These fit perfectly in place of Suzuki vacuum valves and all you need to do is plug the port on the carb, and remember to open and close this when you start and finish your rides. Much happier with this than wondering if the OEM part was going to cost me an engine rebuild.

The petcock valve on my 1997 yamaha kodiak finally starting leaking. Not very much mind you but enough to have a strong gas odor the next morning. I cant stand the smell of strong gas so I took a chance and ordered this petcock valve. Fits perfect, the valve knob is really firm and turns very precise, and comes with everything you need to install it. Installation is super quick and easy and my leaky gas problem has been solved. Just a quick side note: The gas port is on the side of this petcock whereas the gas port on the factory part is on the bottom. Not a big deal for me but could be a problem on another machine if space is tight.

Other than the nipple, the part looks identical. I have a 2004 Yamaha V-Star 650. The knob does not turn smoothly. It is very hard to turn and feels “rough” like it is turning against sandpaper. The nipple is too small to fit the fuel hose, so I would have to replace that too. I’m not sure the lower fuel rate would affect the engine. Also, if you are replacing this part, you need to replace the screw seals too. The only thing that made this ok was Amazon’s easy and excellent return process.

I replaced this fuel valve valve because the other one was not cutting off. One thing to note is the white ends act a a filter as well. These will eventually deteriorate and cause trash from the tank to get to your carb. And stop it up. If this is happen, take the tank off and clean it out. Then replace the fuel valve.

Works great no issues on my 97 bayou. I did have to force the one tube on as it came separate in the package. I did not have to drill a hole. although if this needs to come out for any reason I think the tube will not come back out with it. I was nervous about drilling and didn’t want plastic floaties laying in the tank. the operation of it is flawless and the price is perfect.

Came with a fuel filter and oem quality fuel line to hook to the carb. They should add that to the photo to give it even more value. OEM for this part is like 40-50$ no thanks.
