When you open the box it looks like someone who was fired from Ikea for being too sadistic designed it but once you get started, it goes pretty easily. First; don’t use an electric or drill screwdriver. I over torqued the very first step and had to take a few screws out and pack the stripped holes with some glue and bits of cardboard to repair them. This was my mistake not the manufacturer. Everything goes pretty easy but I had trouble figuring out the metal pins and their placement. Basically, the short double tipped pins go to the bottom so that the bins can pivot. There are two pins facing in opposite directions form the center panel and one on each outer panel facing to the inside. The bins are held from the bottom by these pins. Be careful because mine were loose in the holes and fell out when I was moving the pieces to the next step. Better to put them in place right before you “hang” the bins. They are small and easy to lose so be careful. It is tricky keeping the pins in place to suspend the bin and securing the bottom base at the same time. An extra set of hands would be a help. The instructions aren’t clear but once you understand the overall plan, it makes sense. There are three solid metal dowels. The short ones go on the inside top of the side panel and the long one penetrates both sides of the center panel. These stop the bins from falling forward when open. See my photo. The item looks great and will meet my needs. The laundry baskets aren’t that big so if you generate a lot of dirty clothes, they may be too small.

I purchased this for my new bathroom. I currently have 2 large oval wicker baskets and needed a rectangular, white cabinet to match the bathroom decor.
This is standard particle board, so be very careful when adding screws because the boards crack easily. There are A LOT OF screws and parts. The instructions are awful. Why do companies create these instructions with tiny picture where you can barely see the pictures. At one point I had to take a picture with my phone and expand the pictures. There is one section of the instructions that are wrong and I used my intuition and common sense to figure it out.
After 2 hours (putting it together by myself) I realized that the height is the height of the cabinet but not the space you have for clothes. This may work for baby/childrens clothes but it will not fit sheets, towels, adult clothes unless you do laundry every few days. I do my laundry weekly and the large wicker baskets I have are full by that time so there’s no way my laundry will fit in this.
I returned it and learned that I had to fully take it apart, box it, tape it and take to UPS. So far Ive only gotten a portion of what I paid in a refund.

Updated 2019 – I took away one star because the pegs that literally hold the tilt out cabinets are flimsy and not properly sized to stay on track 100% of the time. I am constantly having to realign the tiltout cabinet boxes or else it’s very clunky. I will be replacing this whole system with a cabinet drawer pullout system for recycling from ikea soon so, I guess this was good enough for when I needed it for a few years.
ORIGINAL 4-star review: This is actually a nice solid piece of furniture. It took some time to put it together, however the instructions are fairly clear and methodical. Unfortunately there is an issue with the pull out function after 2 weeks of use: 1. one of the metal stoppers has fallen into the unit and the only way to get it out is to deconstruct the whole thing – not going to happen. 2. One of the drawer/pull out cabinets is now sticking for no apparent reason other than daily use.
I mean – this is a you get what you pay for situation. I modified mine by adding library card drawer pulls (so I could label Recycling and Paper) and added casters to the bottom – be careful with drilling your screws into the bottom if you do this! I eyeballed my screws and wish I had 1/8″ shorter screws that didn’t pop through the top, oh well. This is a glorified recycling center that had the exact right dimensions to fit in my kitchen space. The slatted doors allow for air flow and the “laundry hampers” inside are the perfect size for 2 weeks of recycling (everything is rinsed well first). If you plan on using this for laundry – the hampers are actually really small/skinny/shorter than you would think. And the dowel system that holds them in place is not perfect.
I am happy because the dimensions are right for me – measure and think about your needs!

I really like this hamper. Although the bags that the clothes go in are pretty small so I took them out and just filled up the bin. Well, the bottom of the bin is really flimsy amd it popped out of the small grooves it slides into. Perhaps gluing it in will prevent that….I’ll update that later.

Considering it’s a “tilt basket” I thought there would be some sort of hardware that keeps the basket in place & maybe it springs back? But instead they just slide into a cubby hole & you tilt them out & put them back in place manually?? I have to scooch them back in when I open it or keep the bottom in place with my foot while I open it. Kind of dumb in my opinion. It’s literally just wood baskets sitting in a wood cubby.. That’s not really a tilt function in my opinion. I can tilt anything. Lol idk. I don’t get it. It is really cute though. easy to assemble. Scuffs easily. Be careful while building.

These little hampers are pretty awesome to be honest. I bought mine July 12th 2022 and 1 week later they are nearly a $100 more. While they are pretty cool…definitely not worth it at the higher price.
Easy to assemble, instructions are straightforward, and so long as you don’t overtighten anything they should last for quite a while. They are pretty small and if you have an active family you might need one for each sorted load if you have a large washer like we do. One side of this hamper is a half load in my machine, so both sides fills it.
