HUANUO Adjustable Single Monitor Arm Desk Mount

So I installed this for my desk that I can raise or lower, and use in a ergonomic daily work, by raising it and standing for a few hours, then sitting and then standing.. stand up desk…basically switching back and forth so I minimize posture, and blood flow issues, as this work station is something I use in hours a day, as much or more than my bed.

Its IMPORTANT! It is also why I have $900 Aeron chair. But use three 30+” monitors, and the main one I use needs to lift and lower as I change positions…This is where this arm comes in..

IF you are changing the arm position from low to upper for standing, and UNLESS you have the arm extend way out and parallel with the other arms, the pivoting arms are going to be at an angle. Once it is at an angle, the arm that sits off of the main post is NOT strong enough to support a 15Lb monitor. Oh, it holds it no problem…BUT, because the arm TWISTS from the weight, every time I have to switch from sitting to standing, I have to also adjust the screen to spin(turn it like a clocks arms) it to level, and this is hard to do. If you have the nut loose, it spins on its own all the time, if you have it tilt, its hard to make the adjustment.

This transition is what I have a issue with. Since I do this 3-4 or so times a day, it is rather annoying and time consuming. The arm is twisting not because of any play in the pivot, that is SOLID, but because that arm is thin and hollow! Thin enough to bend and make the screen look tilted OFF level by a inch or so. As a visual user of professional screens, or any work or enjoyment use, this off level doesn’t work. So I think this is a 2 star or a 3 star arm. I gave the 3 star for the price. BUt why was this not engineered well?
They did not use the tools like Solidworks, or other cad program that would have given weight tolerances at different positions. This could have been avoided by a software they already use and pay for. It would have been zero to a few cents more in material…So this comes down to BAD engineering. The USER, the engineer who made this decision and made this inferior product that had potential of being a EXCELLENT 5-Star product.

I use the arm fully extended and attached near the top of the post. Sturdiness depending on the desk that it’s attached to, the assembly will move a little when adjusting the monitor but otherwise I don’t have any concerns with it sagging for my 27″ monitor.

Due to my home office desk set up, I adjust the monitor 2-3 time a day. When the hinges and gas spring are set properly, the arm is easy to move and it seems like the arm will last me a while. I have the back of my table against a wall and the arm folds nicely so I don’t need space behind the table to accommodate movement.

Overall, I am very happy with the value for money, it not as fancy or sturdy as the very expensive dual arm set up at my work place but I find this easier to assemble and adjust. Also, compared to the dual monitor arms, I prefer having separate arms for each monitor because the distance between the table clamps can be moved to get better range of motion while maintaining alignment of my monitors.

Very functional and quality monitor. Very good value for the money. The arm is very solid and holds my 24 inch monitor with no problems. Super nice to have such a wide range of motion with swivel left to right and height up and down. Super easy to assemble and comes with a clamp or screw mounting option, so you can choose what you want and switch later.

I have a big 32″, heavy, LG monitor. It has an enormous stand, whose foot takes up my whole desk. This beast of a stand fit exactly into the mounting square on my monitor. It doesn’t cover, or interfere with any of the connections on the back. My connections are adjacent to the mounting recess. The shipping weight of this monitor is 22.8lbs. Minus the packaging, that puts the monitor in the 19-20lb range (11kg).

The setup was easy. It was maybe four steps. It is sturdy, and the gas spring has plenty of strength. The mount allows for adjustment in all directions: rotation, tilt, turn, and height. It will rotate vertically, for portrait orientation. It mounts either by edge clamp, or by drilling a small hole through the desk and bottom clamping. I chose edge clamping. It holds just fine, and sits discreetly off to one corner. I finally have my desktop back!

I’ve developed some back issues and need to be able to work standing. I started looking at motorized sit/stand desks and stand desk converters, which all seemed over-priced, wobbles, and break after some time. This adjustable mount is a very economical alternative at $38. I’m 5’8″, and it raises enough that I can view my monitor standing. My head is slightly tilted down, which is comfortable for me. If you’re taller though, it may not work as well as a stand-up monitor. Actually, I would not recommend it for someone taller than myself if you’re trying to achieve a stand-up solution. I bought a mouse/keyboard riser as well.

The unit is very sturdy once it’s all in place – raises and lowers easily after adjusting the tension. Only thing with the assembly is that the screw holes which attaches the clamp to the riser was not threaded on my copy. I’d recommended using one of the screws to thread each hole before assembling, for sanity sake. I added one zip tie, which probably is not necessary. The built-in cable management is awesome!

Very happy with this unit. I’m curious to see how long the gas piston is going to last.
