ILM Adult Bike Helmet with LED Lights

I love cycling but suffer from cycler’s nose. My eyes water and my nose runs as soon as I ride. This helmet has a visor that is very well made and easily adjustable from full coverage to none. It is a very comfortable helmet. I have gone on 6 hour rides without feeling uncomfortable at all. It is well padded with high quality materials. I have 2 other top brand helmets that were similar in price but this helmet is far superior. I would buy this again, it was well worth the money.

Great fit, light weight and pretty sweet lighting

I love the way this helmet fits my head. I have a larger size head and typically find that helmets don’t always want to sit right. This one fits down over my head and is tighten but with the adjustment knob at the back of the helmet to give me a snug fit. I really like the flashing rear red LED light so I’m more visible while on the road. I haven’t tried the front LED light at night as it doesn’t appear to be that bright but I have another light on the bike that I would use anyway. The front light is white while it is the only light on. If you have the back red light on in any mode then the front light becomes solid red. The charging port is a micro SD charger which seems silly as it would make much more sense to be a USB C type port. The charing cable is only 6 inches so you may want to do like I did and get a longer cable.

Overall I’d still highly this helmet.

Great helmet

This is a great helmet, it’s a good fit and the building visor is not only good for sunny days but blocks the wind or the cutting cold mornings. The lights a good the only thing I would like is for the front light to be white while the back light was also on.

So, lemme start with telling you my experience when I got the item versus its use. I purchased it a few days ago and received the wrong size, despite my clicking on large/extra large. But fine, I wanted to see it in person and see how it felt. It came in the company box which was good, but I noticed the bar code seal which keeps the box closed and unused was broken, Ok fine, no problem, when I open it, the first thing I notice is the broken goggle/shield. Its off of the connector. SO fine, I reach out to amazon and send it back and I buy it again with an emphasis on ensuring I get a large one. A few days pass and I get the correct size, but, its used and damaged. It didnt come in its company box, it was literally re-bagged and was clearly a return due to damage. In fact, I think I received the same helmet that a previous reviewer posted. On top of the damages, it had a funky smell to it. So I reached out to Amazon and got a refund and I ordered it again, but this time a different color. My issues were two fold, why would an amazon employee package and box this used and damaged item to the customer and 2 why has the vendor allowed the item to be reprocessed instead of being removed from circulation.

Now to the use. The helmet is not as heavy as some reviewers mentioned, however I do agree that it needs more vent holes. The light is ok, it could be vastly improved. Especially its function, it needs to be changed. 1 button to turn it on, which makes the front and back work, however they have to work simultaneously and not separately as you would hope. The front light should have its own function so that if you want actual light when riding, you dont have to make several clicks to make it bright white. Let me explain further, when the front light is white, the rear light is solid red, if you click the button, the front light turns red and blinks and the rear light is red and blinks, press it again, the front light remains red, and the rear light has another blinking pattern, press it again and the front light remains red and the rear light is red. So I suggest, that they make the front light independent from the rear light. Because if you wants a blinking rear light, you should not have lose the bright white light in the front.

Comfort, this helmet is not as comfortable as many other brands but its ability to tighten and be secure is a plus. The goggle/shield is about 50 percent effective. I say that because if you are riding at speeds of over 10 mph, the wing just navigates around the goggles and hits your eyes. At faster speeds, the goggles remain in place, but the wind that goes around it becomes stronger, causing a louder and louder wind sound and more wind in your eyes. The tint on the shield is for show, it has not actual functionality, its not rated and it does not help with day time glare or headlight glare.

Fit, as I mentioned earlier, the fit is ok, but not the best. It does not fit on your head as good as a typical helmet would. The Straps give you alot of excess strap which can be good and bad. Good because it allows for more adjustment, bad because it becomes bulky and lose when riding.

My final take, given the issues with items delivered twice with issues, and the hygiene issue, I want to tell you to get something else from a different vendor, but I wont do that. I will tell you what I think of it as a functional helmet instead and value points.

Goggle/Shield: Decent but needs to be reworked, perhaps have the visor start from the back of the ear to reduce incoming drag and sound from wind.

My final point, is based on the price and what it has and does not have, I dont think it’s a value for your money. There arent many great options on Amazon to compare with the exception of the 200 dollars and up ones, this is pass on me. Maybe when i get the new one, it will be much better and then I will change my review. But for now, not worth the purchase.
