Great! Just Friggin great! I own an insta 360 one x and got this as, you know, the one inch cousin so I could do both. But then I fell in love. This camera is great I love this modular design so much I bout the 360 mod and extended battery. Ive taken it on hikes and swims all of it so waterproof and it feels compact but tough. Specifically the one inch edition. I still tread the 360 mod like a fragile egg. But the one inch I bash around bushes and and swing it around on the invisible selfie stick with great abandoned. Plus insta360 is always pushing the software forward with new features and modes.
There are minor gripes. The lens cover having to come off to put it in a case isn’t convenient, the onboard mic is in many ways awful outside. But over all I’m very happy to have this camera and you should be to. It’s crazy to have something this powerful be so compact it fits in your pocket.

I did a ton of digging when I was looking for a 360 camera. What made me choose the OneR in the end is the modularity, so that if I wanted to convert it to a conventional action cam, I could simply swap the lenses out instead of having to buy and bring a second camera. I definitely was not disappointed.
Pros:
– Modular and super versatile
– Actually well-thought out software (which honestly I wasn’t expecting)
– Relatively reliable: It froze on me once when I recorded more than 25 minutes of 360 video… which is actually amazing because I’ve used it a ton. When comparing it to my GoPro, the OneR freezes less often in my experience
– 5.7K video allows for zoom in/tiny planet effect versatility. Can zoom in so that the video appears linear which is sweet
– Has a bunch of cool modes for both photo and video (I’ve been using hyperlapse a bunch)
– Really easy to pick up and start shooting with but also has a lot of room to learn how to get better shots (camera movement, angles, etc.)
Cons:
– Audio can be improved: it’s comparable to action cams, all of which I’ve found have a problem with wind noise
– 360 lens is pretty susceptible to scratches if you are not careful. I keep mine in the included protective covering which solves this issue
– Insta360 Studio (free software used to edit the 360 video) can be improved with more advanced features like customizable transition speed and velocity
Overall, this is an amazing camera and in my opinion, it is the best 360 camera on the market in this range by a significant margin.

I used to have the Insta360 ONE X, but I always wished it could do more, like record in regular 4k and use an external microphone for better audio, and that it had a better screen with more options. Looks like Insta360 was listening ’cause they fused an action camera with their best 360 camera and a bunch of awesome features on top. Now, I can use my ONE R as a 360 camera, an action camera, or even as a vlogging camera with the tripod and external mic adapter. The 360 video is still very clean and the selfie stick gets completely removed with near-perfect stitching.
One of my favourite features is the modular system that lets me swap out the lens with the 360 mod, 4k lens, or the 1-inch Leica sensor, which produces great quality video with excellent stabilisation. It’s noticeably better than the 4k lens. I can even point the viewfinder screen towards me so I can see what I’m recording. The mobile and desktop apps are very easy to use in re-framing 360 videos and creating special effects. I haven’t tested this, but the camera can also be used to livestream videos and as a webcam.
Physically, the camera is very well-built and sturdy despite being made up of multiple parts. I wish the standard battery also had the mount built-in like the Boosted battery, but the mounting bracket is needed for that. I also really appreciate that it’s waterproof out of the box without an extra case.
I’d recommend the ONE R to anyone who wants to create or learn 360 videos as well as regular/wide-angle videos with a single system and carry less equipment. The package is great value.

Ich dachte die Insta360 wรคre eine gute und billige Alternative zur GO Pro. Leider hat sich herausgestellt, dass es wie immer einen Grund gibt wieso Produkte eben billiger sind als anderen. Das Menรผ ist nach meinen schlecht und kaum intuitiv. Die Sprachsteuerung funktioniert kaum bis schlecht. Wenn man sie aktiviert hat kann es sein, dass Nebengerรคusche den Befehl geben die Aufnahme zu starten oder zu stoppen.
Das schlimmste ist, dass es wohl einen Bug gibt, dass eine beliebige SD Karte aufhรถrt zu funktionieren. Dann kommt der Error Code auf dem Display “SD card too slow”. Auch bei High-Speed SD Karten tritt dieses Problem willkรผrlich auf. Diese Meldung kommt nach einer beliebigen Aufnahmedauer auf. Manchmal nach 2 Minuten, manchmal nach 20 aber oft auch gar nicht. Das heisst, dass die Kamera absolut unzuverlรคssig ist und man muss dauernd Angst haben, dass die Aufnahme grundlos stoppt. Dieses Problem besteht wohl schon seit Jahren und es gibt viele Meldungen im Internet dazu. Offensichtlich scheint sich niemand von Insta dafรผr zu interessieren, sonst wรคre der Fehler lรคngst behoben. Ich kann in jedem Fall nur abraten diese Kamera zu kaufen und das war auf jeden Fall das letzte Produkt was ich von diesem Unternehmen gekauft habe.

So I also have the 360 lens for this camera, and just recently picked up the Leica 1-inch lens. Because sometimes I want a higher resolution, since this shoots higher res in 5.3K. Super useful when I want to digitally zoom into the footage (which I’ve been doing for dolly zooms).
There’s a big improvement in low light – sunset shots and indoors shots are clearer and a lot less grainy. Since I almost always shoot with natural light, I appreciate being able to shoot in a wider variety of lighting situations now.
Btw if you want to get “impossible” shots like the invisible selfie stick, you’ll need the 360 lens as well (the 1-inch lens doesn’t work for invisible selfie stick, and obviously it doesn’t shoot 360 either, it’s a wide lens)
Favorite thing is how good the stabilization tech is for this camera. I’ve been getting hyperlapses where I can just walk forwards and the footage is super steady. Whereas other cameras I would need to use gimbals, this one I just put on a monopod/stick and can walk or run with it. The app is amazing as well as it does all the stabilizing + can also motion blur the footage for a quick edit on the phone.

This camera is working out really well ..been on 10 hikes and its doing its job..you notice the 1 inch sensor is crystal clear …doesn’t look like Gopro footage when all is edited and uploaded..my video of me using the camera is on my YouTube channel and i got this to use as my main yt camera..going well lol

I am a first time Oner user, and the outcome of this 360-degree camera impressed me. I can personally say that I love the camera a lot. The small design is quite simple and easy to handle. It designed with a straightforward control system make me have no difficulties in understanding. The camera has advanced stabilization performance, and they called itโFlowstate stabilization.โI was worried about the stabilization. However, I used the camera during the weekend biking; the photo quality was impressive. The photo looks bright, colorful, and fancy. And the selfie stick was invisible in my gallery! Such a fantastic function! I noticed this lens adapted with a super high 5.7K 360-degree definition.
I also used alcohol wipes and wet cloth to clean my camera, and it still stays in functional status. Also, The software has powerful function and very easy to use, I tried editing the picture, and the only thing I did was click the โlittle planetโ button in my apps. It’s very easy for me to obtain a screenshot of one flat photo within the panoramic photos. I also noticed there are several quick editing choices in apps. I am so excited to have this fantastic product.ITS ABSOLUTELY WORTH THE PRICE!!

I’ve been looking into the Insta360 cameras for a while and have been very tempted to get a 1-Inch after hearing tons of good things about it. I’m an outdoor lover, especially underwater sports. So I’ve been looking for an action camera that is rugged and can offer high image quality both on land and underwater. I saw ONR R had some major updates on several features earlier this month, one of which was “AquaVision”: which is a magical color correction technology that balances underwater color. When I saw the underwater footage comparison, I was JUST BLOWN AWAY! It was sooo natural and JUST beautiful. So I finally purchased the one-inch edition last week and got the package two days ago. I’ve already taken the camera out and let me tell you WOW, the CAMERA does NOT disappoint!!! I would highly recommend this camera to anyone who’s looking for incredibly smooth footage (thanks to its high stabilization), 360 degrees shooting, or simply who WANT IT ALL!! Awesome job INSTA360!!!!
