This book is on point. As I plan to leave the classroom I am trying to equip myself with knowledge and strategies to help improve teacher practice. As a master teacher I have struggled with the things that Robyn points out in her book: I have asked for time to collaborate with like minded colleagues, I have asked to not be pulled for PD that doesn’t benefit my needs, I have asked to attend PD outside of the district and all requests have fallen on deaf ears. My principal refuses to release me to find a suitable teaching environment and doesn’t know how or want to take the time to meet my needs. This book is right on. I felt like I was in church bc I agreed with everything Robyn said with resounding Amens!
