These have been installed since January 2019 on a 1999 f250. I have never been so impressed by headlights before. They are correctly aimed and provide very good distance and side lighting. Picture was taken 5-18-20.
I had been looking at some time of improving the headlights as my were original. I had looked at upgrading to 2002-2003? headlights and did research. Before ordering I began to research further and found candlepowerforums.com. I contacted Daniel Stern Lighting who (provided me with information and affiliate links) steered me towards these which I’m glad I did. He said that the 02-03 upgrade isn’t really an upgrade and my best bet was to order Ford/OEM headlights with Osram/GE halogens and a quality harness. I had to source the buckets since you have to use the “Work Truck” setup for the headlights. Please do research before just putting LEDs in halogens lenses they are dangerous and illegal.
Theres a reason these are expensive they are top of the line.

I used these to replace the stock headlamps on a Express Van. The stock lamps were scary to drive at night with. I just couldn’t see anything. These made a world of difference. Bought the heated version due to being Colorado and using the van in the winter with snow and icy road conditions. They are worth every penny.

Like: Bright like the sun and a beam pattern that was designed specifically for the LEDs being used. No real dark spots or hot spots. Love the fact that there are lens heaters built in and I’m very hopeful that the elements and electronics that control the heaters work for the life of the lamps. The DRLs are a nice touch and, while it doesn’t look like they’re much in the full sun are surprisingly visible.
Dislike: The angle difference between high and low beam is a bit much. In order to have effective low beams that cut off a few hundred feet in front of you the high beams are pointed a bit too high. Pointing the high beams in the ideal spot puts the low beam cutoff way close to the car.
Overall: Well worth the stunning price of admission.

These lights were recommended to me for my Jeep XJ. They were expensive, but after installing them I am very happy with them. I can comfortably drive at night now. I would say these lights are equivalent in brightness to what is on my BMW 540. Highly recommend!

awesome headlights…till they ain’t. Just a couple months out of warranty and just in time for winter the heaters failed. Sent a email to jw speaker about getting them repaired and was told they are not serviceable or repairable… JUNK HEADLIGHTS AVOID!!

In order to use these I must leave my headlights on all the time. When I was using the daytime running lights I was pulled over by the police in both Alabama and Georgia. Both officers told me it is illegal to operate flashing lights in their states and threatened me with a ticket. I turned the lights on and they saw they don’t flicker when all my lights are on, then they let me go after giving me a warning. So if you buy these, make sure you run with the headlights on in GA and AL. I was also pulled over in TX, and LA, but both of those cops just thought I was having light problems. As soon as I showed them that they stayed on without flickering when the headlights are on, they just let me go. All of the cops were very nice, although the cop in GA spent about 20 minutes trying to find the law in a large law book. I told him I believed him, I don’t need to see it, but he insisted, so that stop took a little over 30 minutes which I had to log as all on duty not driving. But other than being obsessed with showing me the law in writing, he was very nice as well.
If you can get past the flickering, and don’t mind running with your headlights on at all times, they provide much better light than the Sylvania Silverstars, which were previously the brightest DOT approved headlights I could find. This makes driving at night much safer for me. They also have more side light, which makes seeing wildlife and people walking on the side of the road easier to see on dark roads. In addition, LED lights should burn for about 15,000 hours, instead of the 300 hours the Silverstars claimed. And the heated lenses are a must for the winter snowstorms.
