The temperature gauge makes a clicking sound and jumps up and down so you can’t tell what temp it really is and it shuts itself off if that number jumps up to your target temp even if it hasn’t reached it. Really like this product so I’m sad it’s so buggy. I’ve had it for about a week. I’ve probably just received a faulty one, but I can’t figure out how to contact them for a replacement. Update: I travelled with my Jettle but it was too unreliable. I could get it to work sometimes but would often have to unplug and plug it back in multiple times to get it to heat up. REALLY disappointed.
UPDATE: Was able to contact the company and they replaced my Jettle with one that works great. Really love this and am relieved that I just had a bad one.

I’ve been on a journey to find the right travel kettle for me. First I bought a collapsible silicone kettle. I liked it fine, except that it had to cool down a bunch after boiling before it would boil again. Annoying for gongfu style tea where you’re steeping repeatedly.
Then I bought the thermos style, but a cheaper version. It worked well for one trip, and then on the second trip the steam vent failed and it sprayed scalding water everywhere when I opened it. Luckily I was at altitude and it flash cooled enough not to burn me. 😱
I decided to upgrade to the name brand Jettle. It’s twice as expensive but is doing the job well. I do have two quibbles, for which I subtracted a star: the display is impossible to read while it’s sitting on the table. The LEDs are set back in the base enough that you can’t see them without lifting the kettle so you can see the display at eye level. I also don’t like the capacitive touch buttons. Too easy to accidentally turn on when I’m plugging it in but haven’t added water.
But despite these small annoyances, it’s a keeper.

This little portable water heater is amazing. I have been looking for something small, light, and well designed to make me hot water whilst I’m on the road.
So many hotels these days do not supply kettles in your room, so I was looking for something I can easily slip into my suitcase for my business travels, and the Jettle is perfect. When not in use I just put the power cable inside the Jettle for portability.
Its very solidly made, it has a clean, almost Apple like design. It looks good on my desk when I’m not using it.
I’ve mainly used it for tea and coffee but it handled warming up my soup just fine. I like how the capacity is just a little bit bigger than the other travel kettles on amazon too.
I recommend the Jettle to anyone wanting a travel kettle!

I’ve been searching for a portable electric kettle for a while so when I came across Jettle I was curious if it could be the one to fulfill my needs…
I work in an office where my desk is pretty far from the kitchen, so I wanted something to make hot drinks at my desk, and I’m glad to say the Jettle is perfect.
When I received the amazon box the Jettle came in cool packaging, and looks as good as it does in the photos. Its a high quality plastic with a slight sheen on it, and the inside is stainless steel.
Using it is pretty straight forward, you either press boil to get boiling water in what felt like well under 5 minutes, or you can set the temperature to 5 degree increments. Its in Celsius but they have a diagram on it to show you what setting you need for each style of drink.
I really found the Jettle to be the perfect capacity and having that little extra over the other travel kettles listed on here is crucial. I’ve used The Jettle to heat my oats, ramen noodles and even soup once already and as the inside it stainless steel nothing stains or taints it.
Overall I’m really happy with my purchase and would happily recommend the Jettle to anyone looking for a sleek portable travel kettle. What sets it apart is the extra capacity and variable temperatures for me! Five stars

I am a coffee nerd and bought this to carry to places I wouldn’t have a kettle. It’s smaller and much lighter than the collapsible silicone kettles. It takes some time to get to a boil, but I didn’t expect lightning speed at this size. I blew one out when I forgot to switch my voltage converter internationally (one disadvantage of this model). With the second one, the steam vent assembly for the lid separated, requiring me to constantly knock it into place only to have it fall apart shortly thereafter. I am a regular but not constant traveler, so don’t expect to get years of use out of it. Another word to the wise – it has no pour spout or lip, so tends to drip down the front if you’re doing a controlled pour. Watch your fingers.

This is an extremely poor quality item that doesn’t perform as described. Even if you fill below the “max” volume line, the kettle will erupt like a volcano and start spewing hot liquid all over the place. It is not just a small spray of steam or droplets, but high volumes of projectile boiling liquid that can damage the surrounding area as well as your skin. There was a 4′ diameter of spray projected around the kettle and doesn’t stop right away even when unplugged. So if you try to contain the mess,, you could get burned as I did.
