Works perfectly with my Ddrum DD5X drum module. Does open, closed, chick, and half open sounds. The build quality is pretty much the same as you would expect from a regular drum pedal, which is a pleasant surprise! Connects with a standard 1/4 stereo cable and should work with any drum module that accepts this connection type.

I’m adding this review in case it’s helpful for someone. I bought two of these pedals to use with Alesis SamplePad Pro. The TRS (2-stripe) cable that the product comes with does not work with SamplePad Pro because the device expects TS (1-stripe) cable, as described in the manual. Connecting the pedal with TS cable (a.k.a regular jack) also doesn’t work, because the output of the pedal is TRS. What does work, however, is a TRS to TS Y-splitter cable, that splits the stereo output of the pedal into two TS cables. In this case, one jack will be unused, and the pedal signal will only come from the other one. You can find which one simply by trial and error.

The variable output works, hi-hat opening and closing works as expected. Make sure you set your hi-hat pad mode to HAT and the pedal input type to variable. Also works well as kick pedal.

Build quality is good and I’m really happy with this purchase, considering the price of similar products on the market. Additional cable and the uncertainty of whether it will work was a bit of a hassle and I almost returned the pedals, but in the end it worked out and the small inconvenience was worth it. Hopefully this is useful for future SamplePad Pro users.

I bought this because the Roland FD-8 wasn’t available. Didn’t work as a high hat controller, but did send signal like a regular pad. No fault of the manufacturer, since I was trying to cross brands/systems. Comfortable feel, though. Bought a FD-8, now that it was available, and my TD-4 is back in business.

The pedal only sporadically triggered because the output jack was not connected properly; missing the retainer nutritional
