I ordered this neck screw because the tiny neck screw that came with my Selmer saxophone was too small to successfully grip the crook. This screw is very good for tightening the neck just enough so that the crook will no longer move. Some people say it helps with the sound. Not sure Iโve noticed that, but that would be fine if itโs true. Itโs also attractive. Very happy with it.

pART IS ok. fOR THE PRICE, IT’S NOT SOMETHING i’LL FOR. aND IS IT TOO MUCH TROUBLE TO LIST THE THREAD SIZE?

I bought one for a Yamaha neck and the one they sent seems to be tight larger diameter the last 1/4 of the screw length. Therefore it will not tighten the neck. There is no way to contact the seller. I am willing to get a replacement but there is no way to contact the seller. Whether this is Amazon’s fault OR the seller does not want to be contacted – I do not know. So I am giving a 1 star in the hope that the seller can be contacted and assure that I will get the correct screw. Otherwise how it is working now. There are 2 faults. It will not tighten the neck, hence introducing leaks, making you sound worse and 2 , the screw does not improve the sound rather make it worse. I have 2 Yamaha saxes and this product does not work on both of them. A $3 screw from my tech is better

My first impression was wow thatโs big and heavy. I got the raw brass. I like that it matches closely in color to my alto saxophones. It fits one of my two saxes, BetterSax EAS112. After removing the neck screw with 13-14 twists of wrist I inserted the KGU screw, I realized the size of the screw made turning much easier. I just roll it along my index finger a couple times and itโs ready to tighten. When done, a short quick twist and itโs loose and ready for the neck to be removed.
So next tried out the heavy screw. I switched between the original screw and the KGU. While not scientific, I noticed my tone is more lively with slightly quicker response. I felt the top and bottom range notes spoke more easily and with more richness. Especially on my low B and B flat, and high E and F.
Having used the heavy screw for a month, my confidence knowing that notes will play has increased. I will be using the KGU heavy neck screw from now on. The old screw has been retired.

Ordered on Sunday, it arrived on Wednesday, so not bad during the era of COVID-19! This item is just what I both wanted and expected: (1) Seems to be made of quality materials for durability over the long haul; (2) provides a more stabilization of the neck of my sax, compared to the screw it came with; and (3) it looks good! Other than providing more stability, I’m not sure it does anything to improve my sound, nor was I expecting it to despite the product description.
In short, a small item, that makes a big difference in preventing the neck movement! Another great purchase from a Happy Amazon Customer in Brooklyn, New York, USA!

It is an advantage to use this, since it secures the sax neck and aesthetically highlights the beauty of the saxophone

Doesn’t enhance sound for me but looks cool

High mass screw turns easier than OEM standard screw and looks cool. Believers say the high mass improves their tone as well. Iโm noticing improved tone and intonation around the higher notes in both the low and high registers. Maybe itโs just a positive attitude or an irrational belief system but I like it and Iโm keeping it.
