I have been looking for a bookcase for my young kids to use in our office/reading room. I looked at a lot of products and when I found this one, I thought it was perfect. It would give good book storage but also provide a seat for one of them to use. It was easy to put together and it’s a hit. The kids love it (5 year old & 18 mo) and it stores a lot of books. Really happy with the purchase.

This turned out just right. I really like how it looks, and how kid-sized it is. It’s a versatile nook that could go in a number of places as a child ages and spaces change.
That said, the assembly process does give you a new appreciation for IKEA. Everyone makes fun of them, but whoever designed this makes their designers look like Einsteins working with far more durable materials. I wouldn’t say this was difficult to assemble, just… awkward. As if the final shape was paramount and dictated everything, so there was no thought given to the odd contortions or special tools you might need for specific steps. (For instance, you need a screwdriver to tighten the cam bolts on the inside of the slanted top compartments, but a normal-length screwdriver is too long for that space.)
Similarly, I wouldn’t say that the instructions were hard to follow. The parts were well-organized and labeled. However, the instructions do tend to lump a whole bunch of steps together, in a way that IKEA wouldn’t.
Well, I suppose these are the trade-offs for overall cheapness. Again, I had no real trouble putting this together, but on the other hand, I totally see why people might.

We bought one of these for my toddler’s room a while back and he loves it, so we bought another one for our baby’s room. A little disappointed because the construction of it has changed and It’s now finicky to put together. Also, part of it doesn’t line up correctly, despite our efforts.
Also worth mentioning that this book nook is meant for small children and the cushions are not waterproof, so if there’s an accident, you have to throw away the foam insert. We learned this with our toddler’s book nook. In the process of trying to remove the foam, the fabric ripped, so we needed to replace the entire cushion. With the new book nook, there is a zipper on the cushions, but it’s still not waterproof. When we tried to order a replacement, we were told they were sold out of replacement cushions. You would think this would tell Kid Kraft they should make them waterproof, but it seems they make more money this way.

So I opened the box expecting something like an Ikea disaster- but you packaged this so well and the directions were beautifully simple! On top of that, can I just tell you how much I appreciate that the hardware was labeled? Seriously- that was glorious- I even took a picture it was so beautiful to see!
This took less than an hour to put together and the tiny one jumped right on and brought his friends to sit with him. I think this will be a perfect fit.

A lot of people mentioned the material is cheap and came with a lot of damages. They are not lying. Recieved last week and at lease 5 pieces of wooden are chipped. Luckily they are all chipped on the invisible side so I just build it anyways…..
The idea of the product is great and the completed product is great. But the fact that the cushion came with stink and the wooden pieces are chipped make me rate it 1 star…..

Very pleased with the quality of this – it’s very sturdy, and the materials provided to put it together are very secure. I’ve put furniture like this together in the past, and there’s always something that doesn’t line up or the screws don’t fit in snugly or things just snap together and could snap apart – That is NOT this. It’s extremely well-made and well thought-out. And it’s very attractive.
I assembled it by myself in 30-45 minutes, and did have a few struggles, but overall, I got it done and am happy with it
My 1.5 yr-old is In Love with it, very excited to climb all over it and pull books out

This was very frustrating to put together. At one of the first steps and doesn’t explain which way the front of the #2 boards. Of course I guessed wrong and had to redo after getting to the next step (the little opening that goes across the top long board is the back BTW). And then another part was taking this tiny little cylinder thing and sticking it in the hole and then through another hole, adding the screw and hoping you have the end piece lined up. For one of them I spent 30 mins alone trying to get the screw to go in the opening. So frustrating! And that was the most used screw!
So glad I was able to figure it out bc it’s cute.

El producto llegó rápido. No es tan sencillo de armar si no estas acostumbrado a usar herramientas. *Necesitas una mini llave allen para algunos tornillos.*
En la “garantia” te menciona que puede traer detalles, y si es de un material algo delicado. De por si ya venia con algunos talloncitos, si se les barre algun tornillo al momento de instalar, puede dañar el material.
De igual manera el resultado es bueno, para niños menores de 4 o 5 años, creo que esta bien. El resultado igual es lindo. Ya les actualizare despues si es resistente.

It does the job and is cute looking. But one piece was significantly damaged when I opened the box. Didn’t want to go through the process of having to return, at least it’s on the back and can’t be seen. Some of the cap screws just wouldn’t fit no matter how hard I tried. And one little screw had no grooves in it! So had to twist it the best with my fingers and hammer in the rest! Bit expensive for the quality, but my kid loves it.

Looks wise, it looks nice and it’s sturdy. Build wise it’s all good up untill the end, whoa idea was it to have the back board build last. Yeeeshh. Also the squares are not 13″x13″ they’re more like 9″x9″

This is like discount Ikea. Crooked, misaligned & difficult to assemble (because it’s made poorly). It’s frustrating because it SHOULD be well made and able to fit the pieces together. The top piece is incredibly crooked, I do not feel comfortable allowing it in my child’s play space. None of it lines up and it’s incredibly low quality. The bolts stripped out, the wood cracked and I cannot stress how TERRIBLY CHEAP it is. It’s unsafe and wonky.
DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.
