David Cooper –
I read this story over a decade ago, and it still hasn’t lost it’s capacity to amaze. Alex Ross and his co-writers created an amazing comic that asks what happens when you separate the super from the hero….or the human for that matter. So many characters!
Heffe –
Seriously, read this if you love superheroes in a crisis and find it on sale. The artwork alone is worth it and the story will grab your heart.

This book is extremely well done. Regarded as one of the greatest DC novels ever, you can feel the influence and the amazing artwork of Alex Ross which makes you want to keep reading. Superman is definitely the star of the show as his arc really shines as he comes to grips with the new society they live in.

I consider this book to be ahead of its time as the values of traditional heroes (no kill rule) are constantly questioned today and we are in a renaissance of anti-heroes. Shows the ‘come-out-of-retirement’ esque side of Batman and Superman is given a lot of time to shine in this story as well. Lex Luthor and Shazam end up having significant roles as well as this was just a well-conceived plot from start to finish. As for the illustrations, I consider Alex Ross to be the best illustrator I have ever come across and Kingdom Come is just one of the many books he signifies his skill in such a manner. I think if you’re looking for something action-packed this might not be your cup of coffee because the action doesn’t really start to hit until towards the last chapter or two (not going into spoilers but the one on one battle that occurs is one of the greatest showdowns I’ve seen in a comic book), but the story and the underlying themes is truly where this story shines brightest. One of the all time greats in comic history for a reason and one of the most beloved ones at that, all fully deserving.
Paul Miller –
First, let me say the artwork was brilliant. The story was well-thought out. Superman takes his cape and goes home-retires, gives up on humanity. This gives rise to a more bloodthirsty lot; the rise of the meta-human. An old man,an observer who is struggling with his faith, becomes a witness to manโs end time, traveling with a being called the Spectre. This being selects the old man, who is also a reverend, to help decide the fate of the world. The story is complex and well worth a read. There are many other stories going on as the Spectre and the Rev pop in and out of conflicts during the story. I wonโt spoil any more of the story , but it is for me an awesome tale. At the end there is a large section about the writerโs thought processes and the artist sketches, which brought the story to life. I can see why this story is revered.

The art is unbelievable and the story is fulfilling. Wish it was longer but that’s normal when it is good

So I heard about this story for a while and just recently had the privilege of reading it and I was very much impressed. I thought the story was very good. When I picture an older Superman, this is almost exactly what I pictured. The artwork is top-notch! And all the extra pages at the end are a nice bonus. I recommend this to any comic reader!

I am totally satisfied with everything from this product. It came in perfect condition. The story… Now I do get why it is regarded as one of the best comic books.
Phill –
I had the chance to sign this book for my friend at Brazil Comic Con and have a quick chat with Mark Waid about this story and his Fantastic Four run which is one of my favorite runs ever.
Kingdom Come’s story is a really mature take on the superhero role in the modern era. One of my favorite comics. Alex Ross’ art never quite hit it for me when I read his Marvels comic but in this particular story it feels godlike.
Pietro Vieira –
The artwork and story is amazing, and that all too in an affordable price.
If you are a DC fan worth the read.
