Love Klein tools, they have never disappointed me. These strippers are no different. Excellent quality, works consistently everytime. Very quick and easy to use almost one handed, provided there is easy access to the wire end. Great quality, would 100% recommend, wish I had one sooner. Will probably consider buying a 2nd pair when needed.

It makes clean cuts and strips wire cleanly. Great for romex exterior sheathing and individual conductors. Also works well with stranded conductors.
Where it fell short was with the adjustment controls, the small set screws would regularly loosen up and the set point would move. This was particularly problematic for the length of the exposed wire striped. Also the wire cutter built into in the handle was not well aligned. This caused my tool to bind up a little and felt gritty.
Overall it got the job done for my DIY project, but if I was doing this kind of work professionally, it wouldnโt have a spot in my bag.

Man am I glad I got this guy. I’ve been using the standard wire strippers with the specifically sized, sharpened holes (you know the type) for years and years and have always just thought they were a big pain. Even ones from good brands had a nasty habit of cutting into fine stranded wires so I would have to either use a bigger slot or the correct size slot, but not closed all the way to score around the insulation and then tear it the rest of the way off. What a pain.
This one is 100 times easier. As long as you stay within its capacity it has absolutely no problem stripping fine stranded or solid core wire. And there’s not really any adjustments or care needed with regard to gauge, as long as you are under a certain size. There is a tension knob that I think is supposed to fine tune it to certain gauges, but I never bother. It’s not intuitive at all as to what it even does. Anything below 10 awg strips easily (except for some multi-conductor wires) and 10 is alright too sometimes, though the thicker the wire the harder it is to get a specific amount of insulation off.
There’s also the little depth stop thing that really helps keep the amount of insulation removed over a number of wires the same, which is super nice. It itself is kind of a pain to adjust though. The locking screw for it seems really inconsistent as to how much you need to loosen before it’ll move.
Overall though, for pretty much any wire smaller than 10awg (and occasionally 10awg) and single conductor (and sometimes multiple), this is a completely brilliant stripper and you totally need one.

This stripper is the bomb diggity! I’ve been a garage rat my entire life and I’m 53. I’ve always stripped with the finicky strippers with sized holes, or a knife. It works, but it’s a pain, it’s slow. THIS THING…people have already made vids and such, I’ll just say, it’s so quick, reliable and AMAZING! Definitely speeds up a job with lots of wiring.

excellent quality, can’t go wrong with Klein tools as they are very well known in the industry for a reason and I don’t mind spending a few dollars extra for something I’ll have probably for the rest of my life now that I’m 50. It makes life so much easier stripping wires, and the wire cutter on it super sharp compared to others I’ve owned or used in the past. Definitely can’t go wrong so just order it, I believe I paid $38 so if you can get it cheaper than that then absolutely go for it..!!

This tool is amazing. I bought two of the red cheap knockoffs sold on Amazon and they are terrible and cannot be adjusted to work as smooth and flawlessly as this Klein one. Too lazy to return the red knockoffs, so I just threw them out and bought more of these. Once you use this Klein version, there is no way you would tolerate the red one.
FYI, I’m an Electrical Engineer and I use these for anywhere from 24 gauge breadboard wire, to 10 gauge house wire, to whatever-gauge speaker wire, etc. They work flawlessly across that range without needing to adjust them.
