I have been using K&N for years, but this is the first filter I have purchased in a while and the quality of the rubber that forms the seal with the stock housing is much improved in material and fit.

Compared with the stock Ram cummins filter, this one gives a much greater surface area for increased air flow, much like a high performance flower pot filter style filter, but without the rickety housings that don’t fit properly and might actually do more harm than good by being too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer.

At first the truck did not get as good mpg, but after the computer learned the new airflow over the first 500-700 miles with a few full throttle accelerations from various speeds, the computer learned the new airflow measurements and now I’m easily getting 2 mpg better on a truck that only has 2000 miles and is not completely broken in. I’m sure there is more power and response too, but on a truck that has 800 ft lbs, how do you measure another 80 ft lbs with the seat of your pants?

Great option vs spending $400-500+ on a “cold air intake” that may or may not be better depending on the season.

Have owned a few K&N Filter and never had an issue with them so when i got my new truck i figured lets get a new filter for it too. With performance parts i am always a skeptic but after installing this my throttle response is more responsive and i do notice the difference. Time will tell if this will last the 100,000 miles it claims. Until then I am satisfied with my buy

I had to pick a rating so I rated this at 5 stars based on my PREVIOUS experience with KN products. However, I trusted Amazon’s system with regards to what fitted my 2013 RAM 2500 6.7 and I purchased this. It arrived quickly (PRIME ROCKS!) but does not fit the 2013.

    It fits the 2012.

I would verify on knfilters.com that the one you order actually fits your vehicle before buying. I had to return this.

I am starting to think there is a viral smear campaign against K&N… This filter is excellent and I’m getting 18MPG on a STOCK Cummins 6.7L with it. There is a few things one needs to know to run one of these though. The “vertical” (box)design of this particular application requires that in between filter serviceings you need to spray some filter oil on the top part of the filter where the oil “slides” down on. Just inspect it when you change your engine oil and if the top half is getting white, spray some oil on it. OK, one thing to know… Other than this, these K&N’s rock and use the same technology the military uses in the sandbox to keep crap out of the works. My last K&N went 110,000 miles on my Tacoma and was serviced every 20,000 miles. It was still going strong when I traded the Toyota in!

I’d say it worked great. It did seem like it lowered my mpg, but then again, I instinctively seem to drive different when get a product like this and am trying to get lower MPG. I don’t understand why people would give it a bad rating because this product didn’t change their MPG dramatically. Buy a prius if you are looking for low MPG, not a truck that weighs as much as a house… dummy.

Husband works in oilfield and needs to change filter often. These are washable and reusable. This is our third one. They last years.

I purchased this K&N filter to see if I could improve my mileage. I Drive a 2011 Ram 3500 with a Cummins 6.7L Twin Turbo. I also pull a Torque 36 foot fifth wheel toy hauler weighing in at around 16,000 pounds. Adding the K&N not only picked up my mileage a little, but it also had boosted my power. The Cummins seemed to take forever to get up to speed, when the trailer was attached, but now I am up and running with the traffic much quicker. I am currently on the East Coast, but will be headed to California soon, I am anxious to see how much the performance will improve when climbing the mountains. Extremely satisfied with this product.

I’m a big fan of K&N filters for three reasons: First, they really do make a noticeable difference in how well the engine breathes and how quickly the engine spins up when you tromp the throttle; Second, it is WAY cheaper to clean and re-use these than to buy new paper filters; Third, K&N filters can be used much longer between cleanings than a standard filter can handle between replacements. Better performance, lower cost, less maintenance. This one fits very snugly in the factory air cleaner housing of a 2010 Ram 2500 with the 6.7L turbo diesel, which can be a struggle but on the plus side you feel good that it creates a firm seal to prevent any air bypassing the filter.
