I bought this after seeing reviews of its print quality. First problem I didn’t receive the accessories that I had purchased along with the printer, second after using the trial paper it came with I tried printing photos, each photo came out grainy and with very noticable print lines. The quality of the images where poor and left it super pixelated even from a high quality camera. Disappointed with the printer.

I purchased the printer because it was reviewed well and was from a brand I recognised as being reliable. However, you need an application called Kodak Photo Printer to use the device and it categorically does not work on iPhone or android. Tried with multiple devices on both platforms, endless firmware updates on both leaving you with an expensive beeping brick. Kodak, I am very surprised that you sell your products in this state.
As a £150 paper weight, it works but there are cheaper alternatives that are more decorative.

I ordered it thinking just to print out the photos from my phone so I can make space. But I fiddle with the printer app and found out it does so much more it has formats and color adjustments. Now I use it for my recipe book and crafts too. It’s awesome! Well worth the money.

UPDATE:
I’ve now had two of the printer cartridges where the inner cartridge material stuck to the photo paper, causing it to come out of the cartridge and render it useless. I only got 3 pictures printed out of the new cartridge before this happened. If you look at reviews here and on the product page for the cartridge, you’ll see this is something that keeps happening to customers. Highly recommend finding an alternative if you want this style of printer.

I ordered the printer and the full accessory kit, with extra sheets and all that. What I got was just the printer. I contacted Amazon, and the accessory kit and extras is not available to order separately, the helpful Amazon rep tried to credit me, but since I got it through Vine, couldn’t help that way, and suggested that since it was sold by the vendor, I should contact them. I did, and they responded fairly quickly. They basically told me to shove off and bother Amazon. No attempt to resolve the situation. Since Amazon had already told me they couldn’t address it, I took a gamble and initiated a return/replacement. I got my replacement, it was just another printer, no accessories or extra sheets. So this time I went to Kodak’s website and opened a support request. I got a support ticket number, and in the 3 weeks since then, no response whatsoever. I consider this very poor customer support.
With that out of the way… the actual printer itself. I downloaded the app. It’s okay, I didn’t have any trouble connecting it to the printer and having the firmware update for the printer be applied. The screen where you select the images is pretty basic, I took a few pictures of the same thing, and I wanted to enlarge them from the thumbnails screen in the app, didn’t see an easy way to do that, so I had to switch to my phone’s gallery app, figure out which one I wanted to print, and then back to the Kodak app to select that. Enlarging/zooming in the app itself while selecting photos would be a very useful feature. So I selected a couple pictures, and printed them out. It’s not super fast, but whatever. Then I looked at the resulting pictures. Disappointing. Color reproduction isn’t great, and there fine details of the original photo are lost.
I think this would be best suited to something where you want to print a number of photos on the spot, and don’t necessarily need them to be high-quality. Maybe if you’re working on a collage, or maybe classroom use, or little keepsake photos for some kind of event. But for nice photos you want to put in a photo book and look back on years later? No, I wouldn’t recommend this for that.
So one star for customer service, two stars for the printer/app, because they DO work, just in a disappointing way. I guess we’re seeing the end result of the Kodak brand name being sold and resold, this product depends on quality previously associated with the Kodak name and doesn’t deliver.

The printer never recognize the cartridges, please don’t buy it, i feel like i wasted 230 $ canadian for a printer that doesn’t work.
L’imprimante ne reconnait pas les cartouches d’encre, message d’erreur sans arrêt que je dois changer la cartouche. Je vais demander un remboursement, ne perdez pas votre temps avec cet imprimante Kodak.

I was so excited to get this because I needed to make poster boards for pictures. Opened it up and saw that the cartridge included only printed 10 pictures but after 4 good pictures and 1 that was ok except for a streak of yellow across the middle of it. The next picture was completely destroyed as the cartridge was mangled and the picture had layers of the film in pieces. Added a new cartridge and couldn’t get a photo printed. I turned off and reset the printer multiple times and realized the new cartridge wasn’t pushed in all the way. That was corrected and photo paper was added and still cannot get it to print. So very disappointing and at this point not worth the money.

Prints are high quality. Has its quirks. But I didn’t give up on it. Manually Turning off and on sometimes. Force closing the app and restarting sometimes. Being gentle with it. Printing 1 photo at a time. Prints photos slightly darker than originally. With darker photos I just add brightness and contrast. Works well 80% of the time, and the other times I have to just force close the app or turn the printer on and off to wake it up. I don’t mind Since it works really well directly connecting to the phone. Bluetooth is too unreliable. Pro tip: I can select a photo from my android phone, share the photo with the Kodak app, then the photo opens up in the Kodak app. Then I print that photo easily with my phone connected directly to the printer.

We were looking for a quick and simple photo printer to record memories of our loved one. Raising a child means every spare minute counts towards getting work/chores done and rest. We didn’t want to sacrifice quality so we gave this one a try because it’s from Kodak. Oh boy are we pleased. It’s very compact and light. There is just one button (power button) because it uses an app which is so easy to use. I can use the app using bluetooth or just plug my phone in the phone jack. Quality of the photos are very very good. I don’t see any grains or smears and it shows flaws in the photos on the ones I took it in the wrong lighting. The film paper goes back and forth 4 times (yellow layer, magenta layer, cyan layer, lamination layer) which takes only 30 or so seconds. We are well pleased and it’s worth every penny! We also purchased the polaroid camera. Can’t wait to use it!
