Ho acquistato questo lucchetto per una bici elettrica di un discreto valore, non volendo ricorrere a soluzioni più economiche e allo stesso tempo meno sicure.
Robusto, di buona fattura che trasmette fin da subito qualità.
Sicuramente lasciare la bici con un lucchetto simile offre la tranquillità di parcheggiarla come maggiore serenità.
Forse un po’ pesante ed ingombrante, infatti ho preferito non montare il supporto, bensì riporlo dentro alle borse.

This lock works great but it’s a heavy lock and if I didn’t own a ebike I wouldn’t give it 5 stars. Easy to store on the bike with the bracket provided.

Ich habe das Schloss gekauft, da es einige Vorzüge mit sich brachte. Es sieht wertig aus, ist wetterbeständig und hat eine lange aber stabile U-Form.
Schlossmechanismus: wie bei einigen Rezensionen zu sehen ist das Schloss etwas widerständig. Das liegt daran, dass man den Riegel gegen den Bügel drücken muss, damit das Schloss sicher und ohne gewackel zuschließen kann. Dennoch erstmal ein kleines Zeitärgernis, denn man muss erstmal einige Minuten probieren, um sich daran zu gewöhnen.
Unabgerundete Form: der Hersteller beschreibt, dass das Schloss beim Verschluss keine runde Form zum Schließen benutzt hat. Das Ziel ist es, eine weitere Schwachstelle eines Bügelschlosses damit auszuhebeln.
Der Bügel ist tatsächlich an den Ecken etwas eingekerbt. Wer aber einmal versehentlich nur einen von den Bügelnasen angeschlossen hatte, weiß, dass die Einkerbung nicht ausreicht, um ein Drehen (wenn auch nur ein kleines) zu verhindern. Daher leider ein weiterer Sternabzug für die leicht irreführende Marketing-Bezeichnung.
Abgesehen davon ist das Schloss wohl eines der besseren in der Preisklasse. Dementsprechend kann man es durchaus empfehlen.

It looks good and strong and the lock works well for the moment. Large enough to lock a wheel with the frame to a bike rack. It gives peace of mind.

The plastic coupling to fit to bike frame didn’t necessarily fit my bike all that well but there were other placement options. I also find the bike harder to lock with the plastic piece still fitted to it as it tends to slide towards the locking mechanism and providing the fit it needs to close the lock properly. that said there is nothing wrong with this long. I got the longest model. I recommend that. It gives you extra wiggle room with tricky parking situations. Also great options for insurance and key replacement with kryptonite

Looks cool, weighs a bit more than a kilo, but lock doesn’t hold itself very tight – shaky and noisy. Had to apply some tape to remove gaps and noise from shaking. Almost 50 bucks for a lock and still have to fix it with a scotch tape, c’mon people!

Feel secure, the longer sides let me secure multiple bikes together with multiple cables and ulocks easier.
The Krypto name is a good deterrent in itself so I use two of these with two cables and a couple of padlocks to secure 4 bikes together.
Yes the locks and the cables are worth more than some of our bikes now but that’s the game.
I also use this longer one to secure my tow bar bike carrier to the chassis instead of the manufacturer’s plastic looking lock.
Pretty straight forward to use, both prongs for straight in to lock either way around so no twisting after one is cut, silver standard lock which means something to someone I guess, I want all the locks to be thief proof.
The key for this is in the middle underneath and so uses a shorter key than normal.
Happy so far, used in bad weather and hot weather and the lock still works fine.

Okay so it’s the length that I needed.. but when you go to put the key into the Keyhole it’s extremely fidgety and non-precision and quite antiquated ..haven’t seen this style since the very first cheap padlocks came out.. each time I go to lock it or unlock it my anxiety levels go up because I don’t like to sit there and twist and turn and fidget with a key in a very loose fitting Keyhole I’ve been a Kryptonite fan for a long time but this one’s a total bust for me..

Fits beautifully in places that need a bit more length such as when I lock together my font wheel to my frame to my helmet to a sign post. It can be done because this is long enough.
And I’m comfortable using this to secure my Nishiki on the streets of Los Angeles which is infamous for aggressive bike thieves. A bike of mine was stolen in broad daylight locked by a cable lock to a street sign. Clipped! This lock by kryptonite will not be clipped. And thieves have great difficulty breaking or prying it apart.
