Used this obd device to program a key fob for my 2004 tundra. Worked great. The menus are a bit troublesome to get to. Not all options are available, like controlling seat belt warning light. Neither was is on a tech stream program running off a windows 10 laptop running virtual won xp and tech stream. Worth the money and EASY to use with comprehensive info for Toyota and lexus

This device did something that I was told only a dealer, or a $1000+ dealer level product would do. I replaced the factory navigation / audio unit in our 2005 CLK500. All went well, with one exception…in the navigation equipped cars, there is no manual way to set the clock in the instrument cluster, as it gets a signal from the GPS, which is no longer there. Searching the net, I found 2 ‘solutions’…the first was to pull and replace the clock fuse at noon, which is the default time. This works, but it’s not entirely convenient, and has to be done at least twice a year, just to keep up with daylight vs. standard time. The other solution was to have the navigation option ‘coded out’ of the cluster using the Mercedes SDS diagnostic system. This means a trip to the dealership, and whatever they charge (if the would even do it), finding an independent shop with SDS (same issues of cost or willingness), or buy an SDS system…which really means piece together a bunch of bits and pieces to build an SDS clone, as MB doesn’t just sell it to anyone. Well, I now know of a 3rd solution, and that’s this device. In less than 5 minutes, I was able to tell my car that it no longer had a navigation system, which brings up a ‘set time and date’ function in the normal vehicle settings menu. It will also allow you to properly code and initialize SAM’s…another thing normally reserved for SDS shops or investment. And all this is on top of its very solid ability as a high end diagnostic tool, capable not only of reading and resetting codes, but also the ability to read datastreams, actuate individual components, and so much more. And at this price…wow! I paid almost this much for an Icarsoft unit that only does a fraction of what this unit does. And as if that wasn’t enough, this unit is for Mercedes, but via the Launch online mall, you can purchase the ability to work on other manufacturers vehicles.

I wanted to buy a scan tool of my own so I didn’t keep asking my coworkers for theirs. I searched around a lot for something that was good and was not gonna hurt my wallet. I came across this one that can scan all cars and trucks thru OBD, but this can do bidirectional on Honda/Acura systems too. I drive a Honda so that is what sold me on it. I can pull codes on everything, but if I need to do more digging on my car, I can do all sorts of stuff with this. And as an added benefit too, this scan tool has lifetime free updates. Total win in my book.

Supposed to work with all sprinters but I plug in my 2008 and it says can’t download Chrysler although this page clearly says it’s supposed to work. Also it appears you have to buy each individual function like dpf regen on top of everything else. Very disappointed and a waste of time

I was looking for a proper scanner to clear the SRS light after dasboard removal. My car is 1996 Mercedes S320, W140. I first tried icarsoft MB v2 and v3. Neither worked for me, and were not able to reset my SRS light. Some fault codes were incorrectly read. The Launch Creader Elite for Mercedes is a great tool. It came with the OBD-II connector only, so I ordered the complete non-16 pin connector set. I also had to order a 2-line to 3-line 15 pin fm to fm conector cable, to be able to use the 38-pin connector. With that set up, the Launch scanner read 11 fault codes, created report and emailed it to me in a neat, professional format. It was able to clear all fault codes, including the srs light as well! I also used it for a test on the vents and flaps. I love the scanner. I wish they offered a set, that includes the 38-pin connector at affordable price. However, I am now one happy automotive enthusiast. This is an awesome tool!

I frequently work on Mercedes and thought this would be a good tool to have around the shop. A big plus for me is having lifetime free updates. No gimmicks no nonsense just a one time payment and you’re good to go. It’s hard not to be critical comparing this to some of my other professional scan tools but here’s a quick rundown of what you get. For basic code reading and a loaner tool this works great. Cheap simple and foolproof. This will be a good addition to train some of the guys on.
Pros:
Launch Software
Free Updates
Option to buy more models
Long Battery Life
Cons:
Wired Connection
Small Screen
Slow Scanning

The first thing that caught my attention and appreciation was the design of this Scanner. It has a great handle to it when working on the car. The size is also great for a better view of the screen and navigating through the settings. The scanner is very fast when it comes to navigating through the settings, ECU coding, reading codes, updates, getting help from the internet related to searching for help on specific codes, and downloads for upgrades to the software! This tool has helped code unwanted malfunctions my Benz tells me about whenever I turn on the car such as Teleaid not being available for older Benzs that do not have that activated. I was able to program to tell the car how many gallons of fuel I have in the tank rather than just only seeing how many miles I have left till empty. Dont buy the other Benz scanners from other companies, except for this one.
