I was pleased when my DVD of Lawrence Welk Treasures arrived. It is my 15th in my collection. It was just as advertised: used but still in good condition. It has shows from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s as seen on PBS. It is about the cast and how and when they were hired and Lawrence Welk’s years on TV. I thank Movie Mars and Amazon for my latest dvd.

Some of you may have been “forced” to watch Lawrence Welk while your parents watched it, while you waited for “your show” to come on right after on your single TV within the household, being received on one of 4 channels available in your area. I purchased this DVD for my 85 year old mother and she loved it! Brought back great memories for her seeing all the faces of people she watched years ago dancing and singing. It brought back memories of the stories heard about Lawrence Welk as he traveled the country side. If you have older parents and they loved Lawrence Welk back, this DVD is highly recommended. It was created in 2007 (based upon the copyright date of the DVD cover) to give you a time frame as to when it was created.

What I got was a documentary that was of no interest to me. The package labeling does not say what you’re REALLY buying. The item is being returned to Amazon for a hassle-free refund.

This is a well-done history of the Lawrence Welk tv show, with a quick look at how Welk got started. Picture and sound quality are quite good. The drawback, as with so many documentaries, is that once you’ve seen it a time or two, there is no reason to keep watching it. We enjoyed watching it, but we won’t keep it.
